Thanks Nicola, the pudding truffles were Nigellas they are very rich, you certainly don't need many!

I've coveted the cookie cutter for a couple of years now, so thought I would treat myself to it (I'm worth it, lol!) I haven't made the cookies yet, but I'm going to do a trial run soon. There is a recipe on the box. Debating on whether to use run out icing or just roll out icing cut using the cutters - will do both when I experiment and see which comes out best. Loving the idea of the centre piece, though not sure if it would last that long with my DH around! :rotfl:

I got the latest Nigella book last month for my Birthday have only flicked through it though , wonder if they are in it, seen some nice red cupcakes I'm going to have a bash at.

please let us know how the trial run goes, I think for a more professional look then the roll out icing just using one size smaller then the cookie but for a more oh its just something I put together or something to make with kids then the pouring icing..

do you make 2 of each size?
there are more biscuits/layers than cutters
so would the 6 cutter set not work if you made 2 of each
would be smaller, but 2 would make impressive table pieces, one either end

I think from looking at the picture it is 2 of the same size on the bottom two layers so potentially the 6 would work, great excuse to make 2.

I wish I had time next week to try this I soooo want to do it, lol. once my ebay listings are finshed I'll see what I have to spend and I think i will just go with the ebay ones and add a few more items in. I think around about the second week in november I may have a spare hour or so to myself (ok I jest but it feels that way some time)

Perhaps a suggestion as you all seem so crafty already, and a bit OS too. Get a single image of a star that you like on the pc. Then just copy it once and enlarge the second one slightly. Copy that and enlarge again slightly. .....
Print off your pages on the regular printer, copy into card or greaseproof (or use greaseproof to copy to card) and
    VOILA!!
Christmas tree of as tall as you want!!

Alternatively, print a single one, and use a photocopier to enlarge/reduce that in increments to get the sizes you need.

OK, going to crawl back under a rock now so you can laugh long and loud;)

I was trying to build on your idea actually, midnightraven, just cut out too much faffing with hand-measuring IYKWIM?

Sorry, I ended up quoting the wrong person. (Umm, is there an embarassed smilie somewhere - cos I'm red faced but not raging!)

Reading what you lot are doing I'd better get busy.............lol
I made a couple of ''soft trees'' last year to stand on our dresser.......every intention of doing more and haven't -as yet, plus want to do more fabric hearts.
Got enough fabric so no reason not to get on really before I get the ''guilt'' syndrome at not being as organised as I meant to be...........lol:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
