    Hi All,

I am starting this month today, as I don't think I'll have any more spends before the end of August. My OH is now living at home again, after working away for several months, and as he is working nightshift it is taking me some time to get into the habit of preparing dinner early enough for him to take a portion to work, so my plan for the month is to be more organised for everyone's pack ups. I have been buying sliced prepared chicken for pack ups as I am veggie and hate preparing real chicken, but my plan for this month is to bite the bullet and do some rubber chicken jiggery pokery and make sandwich meat/flavoured breasts for the oys and OH myself, which should give them better quality proteins and cost a bit less. I also fancy trying to make my own yoghurt, I don't have a flask, but my MIL has about nine in her airing cupboard so I think I will be begging one from her. The boys have developed a taste for muller vanilla yoghurts but they have gelatin in which I don't want them eating for ethical reasons, so I figured I could make my own vanilla flavoured for them.

So, with all this in mind, I would like to put my name down for £150 for the month. Meant to say, I am saving for a new (to me) car, and will be scrimping every ha'penny I can.

Well today, I had to go shopping and spent £44.69. Thing is, none of that was on dinners!!!
It was just yogurts, milk, fruit, salad stuff, cold meat, crisps and biscuits. The biscuits themselves added up to £8.09, but iv e told Dh & the kids, when they are done, they are done, im not buying anymore for a couple of weeks.

Ive just started back on this challenge and already im on a downer because of how much ive spent.

Well done Mrs M on the weight loss, I could be doing with some tips, ive got about 39lbs to lose.

  • Ok... This will be my very first month! Just to confuse myself a little, as of October, my month will begin on the 5th (when my training bursary is paid), but rather than put this off any longer, I'm making September a 5 week month, and starting NOW. I need to stop popping into the supermarket and losing a tenner! I'm allowing myself £30 per week, to cover anything I pick up while shopping - food (wine ;)), cleaning stuff, and so on. So....

    lucylollipop September budget: £150

    And I've already spent £11.16!!

    Fingers crossed!

Right, Me and OH need to sort out our grocery monies! We gets married this month, so it might be tricky, but I've been finding excuses for a while now, and I've just decided that I NEED to sort it out (coz he just leaves me too it)!

Right, so with that in mind I'd like to be put down for £120 for the month of September, starting on the 1st! This will include groceries, but nothing to do with wedding will be included, obviously there's a wedding budget for that, which will include the honeymoon of couse!

I'm thinking of trying internet shopping in an attempt to control my shopping as I work in a supermarket and it's very easy to 'pop back in store' and spend a fortune! Also want to sort myself at meal planning, so better go peruse the meal planning threads and recipes!

    Off I go investigating!!!!!!!

Hi everyone - my month started on Friday so I've updated total with spends so far.

Nothing exciting to say, dinner tonight is Roast lamb and all the trimmings, no pud planned as I couldn't get motivated but everyone should be full after a big dinner, if not there is plenty of fruit in.:o

    Good luck everyone.;)
