It is the local store staff who are the problem for not maintaining their stores properly and also for not upholding the policy of the company when they get it wrong.

I'd imagine they are 'unofficialy' told by HO to resist giving a refund wherever possible.

The only reason they will be giving refunds when people call HO is to placate people - they know they aren't the type to just sit down and take whatever a manager says as gospel. Thats why people who accept a refund (and give items back) are just making things worse.

I agree with that taxiphil. I don't really agree with your sig though, I don't think Tesco as an entity is at fault here, especially baring in mind how helpful people like Joanne and Kevin have been.

Fair enough, we all have different views on this, but in my mind the store staff are the company. When the staff speak to me, it is the company speaking to me. When the staff get things wrong, it is the company getting things wrong.

True, Joanne and Kevin have been helpful, but these matters should never have got that far. Too many of us have had to endure intimidation, rudeness, thuggery and lies as part of our long and unpleasant battles to get the company policy invoked.

As I say though, I actually think Tescos as a company have been fine about this and have probably incurred a fairly hefty loss in the pursuit of customer goodwill...

I think the R+R policy is more about getting them off the hook when they've committed criminal offences than customer goodwill. I have experienced very little in the way of goodwill from store staff in the last few weeks.

Personally I don't mind pointing people in the right direction if I know of an opportunity out there, I am all for helping each other out, isn't that what this forum exists for?

Indeed, why have someone wasting their petrol/time if you know of what/where they want?

Is it me or was every store today full of R&Rer's?? Going for Xbox no.3 and noticed at least one other R&Rer in each of the 6 stores I visited.

No luck in the end though - Either beaten to it, no GOTW posters or no game/console. May try my luck early tomorrow morning...

Anybody know the big asian guy in South Wigston trying to pay for his PSP with saliva (getting very irate). If so could they tell him that he's going about it in COMPLETELY the wrong way (he was being advised by someone over the phone - obviously something along the lines of "Stand your ground and fight it out"). Hopefully he gave up by 4pm ....

I noticed "extra curiosity" around the games stands today......When I noticed the posters wern't there...I went and looked at the phones...with more success.

    Hi All,

Quick update - I also purchased an Xbox 360 today. Different store, Same problem. Thats two (PSP and Xbox 360) to take to CS on Monday.

I took some previous advice and walked away with the products and receipt with no refunds against anything. Looking forward to Monday :-)

Many thanks for all your advice!

I will keep you updated of any progress.

That outcome will be interesting....2 Rnrs in 1 phone call.

Don't suppose anyone who's managed to get one of these xbox deals (not me - grr) would be willing to flog one off to a fellow moneysaver? My wee boy is desparate for one..

I wouldn't balk at the prospect myself, I would be looking for an explanation on how I have been overcharged on two high priced products in such a short time and should I expect this on a regular basis etc etc
