MyUserNamesTaken wrote:If it's the Virgin/Vodafone offer, then no discount will come off. Go for it. No matter how much they argue it, do not allow them to talk you into just taking your money back and giving them the items back. Do not accept the £20 back, either. Go for the full R&R. If they say no, call CS. If that doesn't work, leave the store with the goods and try CS again until you get a "helpful" member of staff.

I only got the phone refunded, as the poster said the discount was on the phone. Some people, however, have had both refunded. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

MyUserNamesTaken wrote:I haven't caught up with the thread yet, but I need to post this just in case this hasn't already been mentioned. There has been an urgent email sent out to all stores from HO to get this week's poster and POS down, as THE CURRENT POSTER IS SHOWING WRONG GAME AS THE GAME OF THE WEEK! This has left Tesco WIDE OPEN, as it's an obvious overcharge. They're advertising a game as game of the week, but the discount will not come off. The game advertised is Just Cause. It should be The Godfather. If you manage to find a store (and they are about, as I got one this morning
) that has any poster up and the Save £20 when you buy Xbox 360 or PS2 & Game of the Week, BUY, BUY, BUY! You will be overcharged.
I saw the posters for GOTW just cause....£20 off, in my store today.... they are out there :j

MyUserNamesTaken wrote:And then HO releases a poster that shows the WRONG game as GOTW on the Xbox 360 console....:rotfl:The problem isn't the stores. With the consoles, the problem is (mostly) down to misleading, badly worded and incorrect POS - a HO issue.
The posters in fairness were distributed long before the pull notice was, the posters being displayed today are due to poor communication rather than anything else, for whatever reason these managers have failed to or decided not to act on it.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Ok just had a failed attempt at R&R on a Xbox 360..
I put the display case and game in my basket along with a couple of other bits and went to the checkout, the guy scanned the game and a few of my other bits then said "oh, you have to go over there to get this" when he picked up the xbox I said "yeah I know" then he said "thats £45.60 please" panic set in "you havent charged for the Xbox?" says I "no, you have to go over there, they have put a sticker over the barcode so I cant scan it"
Anyway, stupidly I paid up and got in the CS queue, sure enough they charged me the full price for the xbox (£279) when I said I had been overcharged she said it wouldnt have gone through because it was two transactions!
I did say that I had tried to pay for them both together but couldnt, she was having none of it, she gave me the £20 and said thats it, she cant honour the offer as I didnt get them both at the same time.
I didnt wanna kick up too much fuss as I can always take them back for a refund and try again taking both game & xbox to CS
But by offering me the £20 did she not admit I had been overcharged?
Whats the best thing to do? take them back and try again or fight over this one?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

If this is their plan someone should tell them to look it up in the OED under "Catastrophe"Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I would have told him it was a multi buy and asked him to take it off, I would have then paid for the two items together.
personally, I think you're on a loser
offer clearly states that "when you buy with"
just my opinion though

could someone confirm if the £10.00 discount should come off the psp console giga pack with the 2 games included, priced at £149.99? or does the offer just apply to the basic psp console when you buy the gotw.0
