    Hi,

i was reading on the other thread about the mispriced xbox with gotw. How can tescos afford to give a refund for this amount. Surely any clued up manager would just appologise for the discount not coming off and then remove the £20 and allow the to keep the old gotw.

    DOES THIS REALLY WORK?
Yes, it really works - I got one this morning due to this very error. The manager can offer you the £20 or even the game for free, but you don't have to accept it, as the overcharge is on the whole bundle. The reason why the overcharge is on the whole bundle is because no discount is offered if you buy one or the other item on its own. The discount is offered on the bundle on condition that you buy both the console AND the game of the week. Due to the overcharge being on the bundle (Xbox 360 and Game), Tesco's policy is that you should receive a full refund on the overcharged items and get to keep the items for free. In other words, you get back the WHOLE cost of the console and the game. If a manager refuses, walk away with your goods and give CS in Dundee a ring on Monday. Get the names of all the people you deal with in store so you have some back up information to give to Dundee. If you fight it out, you will get a full refund on the entire bundle. Remember, stay calm at all times.

I was told yesterday by Joanne Leith that this PSP misprice debacle has triggered warning bells very load and clear at HO and the Tesco Board have been informed. They now realise there is a serious issue with mispricing within their stores and action is going to be taken to remedy it.

And then HO releases a poster that shows the WRONG game as GOTW on the Xbox 360 console....:rotfl:The problem isn't the stores. With the consoles, the problem is (mostly) down to misleading, badly worded and incorrect POS - a HO issue.

(slightly off topic but following up from last night's discussion about Asda's overcharge policy). Been to Asda with Mrs Clasics today to avail ourselves of some of the amazing offers there ATM (BTW, this is a FAR cheaper shop than Tesco, no question, but no R&R, unfortunately!). Thought I'd have a look at the meat section while I was there (it's become an addiction lately). Anyway, within 30 secs of looking, spotted a misprice. Turkey Steaks, SEL £2.87, pack £2.98. Nabbed one just for a laugh to see what would happen. True enough it rang thru at £2.98 so toddles off to CS desk to inform them, they check it and agree that I've been overcharged by 11p, it's all smiles as she hands over the 11p difference. And then I go and spoil the mood totally by asking her where my £2 voucher is! 'We don't do them' she says. 'Funny, that, because I was just reading about their existence on your website this morning' says I. Cue previusly smiling face turning to one that resembles a slapped @rse and handing over of £2 gift card after she's punched the figures into the machine so hard I thought it was going to break.

Moral of story? Seems like it's not just Tesco employees that renege on a clear company policy. I enjoyed the experience so much I'm going to keep popping in on the offchance of more misprices. Next time I'll get several of each and insist on a gift card for each one. Wish me luck.

I was offered the gift card without having to ask at all this morning. So it seems that in most big companies the rules of conduct fluctuate according to the person doing the job.

Come on, how hard is it for any store/company to get this right, all the stores know the problem that have existed with these big ticket items !, surely 10 minutes or so spent testing that the poster coincides with the products is all it takes !..........simple really and just shows how complacent the stores and the company is.

Today I saw the out of date £20 off mobile phone poster. Does the discount definently not come off? If it doesn't I will try for my first r&r.

I think you will find that is exactly why Joanne Lieth is involved in the affair.

If it's the Virgin/Vodafone offer, then no discount will come off. Go for it. No matter how much they argue it, do not allow them to talk you into just taking your money back and giving them the items back. Do not accept the £20 back, either. Go for the full R&R. If they say no, call CS. If that doesn't work, leave the store with the goods and try CS again until you get a "helpful" member of staff.

Can you host it on Imageshack and post it on here for others to see, please? When they see it, they'll see exactly how big a !!!! up this latest poster is... :rotfl:

    Thanks.
