Does anybody else's posts keep getting deleted? Two of mine from yesterday were, and one of them was quite useful, as it contained items that had been posted as mispriced, but which weren't when I tried them yesterday. I can find that somebody else quoted my post to say thanks, but can't find the original post anywhere. Am I going mad???

Are you posting them on here(the discusion thread) or the misprice thread.....as if theyre not actually mis prices they could have been deleted from the "misprice only" thread.....although the mods usually inform us of this....

Just a little info re meat R&Rs
Went into my local store yesterday. Loads of potential R&Rs, but thwarted by Mr T. All the mispriced packets had a bright yellow label over the price to pay, with the price corresponding to the SEL. (e.g.The price per Kg on the packs said £5.99, the SEL said £4.99, but the yellow label over the price to pay gave the total to pay at £4.99 per Kg)
So sad, kids had to have gruel for dinner last night!!

Dont bite off your nose to spite your face (or whatever that saying is)

Alerting the media in any way might feel good in the short term, but Tesco would soon get over it. In the meantime, there would be thousands and thousands of new people reading this website trying to get in on the act and fill their boots. Any misprices would be almost instantly snapped up everywhere, meaning that me, you and all the other existing r&r's would have a much much harder time finding anything of value.

R&R's should keep their mouths shut - the fewer people that know, the better

    Sorry Puddings, I don't agree.

The whole point of MSE is Consumer Revenge, not an exclusive club for existing R&R'ers to get freebies off Tesco's. We all need to spread the word about getting revenge from rip off companies.

I am the first to admit that I have benefitted immensly from this site, but would not have done so if someone hadn't highlighted MSE's existance in the first place.

Having said all that, I don't think that alerting the media is the right way to get one's revenge and I doubt if the media would be interested anyway.

MoneySavingExpert is all the media we need though as this is the site that is hurting the companies concerned.

The more people that use this site, the better, there is plenty in the pot for everyone.

R&R is compensation from Tesco for highlighting an existing overcharge that we have been a victim of, not a club were members can benefit from getting freebies from Mr T.

The whole point of reporting misprices, is to highlight to all concern how bad Tesco's are at overcharging.

I tell CS desks about undercharges as well as overcharges, as the whole point in reporting is to get Tesco to get the pricing right in the first place.

The fact that they give me free stuff for doing that is an added benefit. But I admit that I would'nt bother if I didn't get something for nothing but lets not be greedy, there is plenty for everyone, be it Tesco, Boots, Asda or whoever.

I don't mean to get on at you and it is not personal and is not meant as a put down. We are all entitled to our own views and am just stating mine.

I agree wholeheartedly, Ben is a top poster , has always helped everyone and I regard him as one of the experts on here.

There are a lot of people who are playing with their new consoles as a direct result of his advise.

Ben500, don't take it to heart mate. I have had similar pm's in the last couple of weeks and have ignored them. Keep it up. However, I have been keeping my head down for a while as apparently, I am the ace of spades in their pack of most wanted at the mo.

Our MSN site is nothing special, we don't post misprices or anything on there. We just use it to have a chinwag without clogging up this thread, thats all.

Didn't know Bleugh had his own forum though.....that's very interesting.

Can't beleive you lot are posting all this stuff about me, what have I done to warrant all this? I havn't r&r'd for a couple of weeks and your still talking about me.

    Find someone else to blame.

I don't get to post on here as much as I would like, but I do when I find an R&R not already reported, sadly Mr. T's is a bit far for me:( . But I will say I have always found your info very helpfull and informative and long may it continue in my opinion.

I watched a lady doing this in my local store last week, just made sure I looked on the shelves she hadnt done, bagged myself £30 of organic chicken thigh fillets before she could get to them, when I went back with the CS woman to "help her find it" she even asked the woman re-pricing stuff if it was a misprice, she tutted and said "yeah, havent got to that bit yet" :rotfl: :rotfl:
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

It's always good that you have your own opinion so please dont be sorry about it.

I read MSE to learn and understand how to receive maximum benefit from the offers, promotions and loopholes whilst staying 100% inside the law. With this I'm not just talking about Tesco, I'm talking about credit cards, gas suppliers, building societies etc - a big part of MSE that a lot of people dont seem to look at.

For the other offers (gas suppliers etc), I would say "yeah, the more publicity the better, it will create a competitive market" but for this particular Tesco loophole, the SELs quickly get removed so there is very limited availability. It may appear selfish, but I've already explained what I think would happen if this forum became mainstream news, one way or another it would result in the decline of the forum.

It's sad that whilst many MSE'rs are happy picking off the fruits (and steaks and noddy albums) of their labours, all you appear to be doing is seeking revenge. PM me if you want contact details for an anger management course in your area. Always happy to help.

Continuing the discussion between puddings and McDonag, I have to say my stance on Tesco and R&R'ing has changed a lot since I started doung it (not that long ago, maybe 4 months?). I remember posting on here in response to Ben500s post saying how he does this to highlight how crap Tesco are at pricing and to get them to start doing the right thing that I admitted totally that I was in it solely for the free stuff and was not a bit idealistic about the whole thing.

My views have changed, don't get me wrong I still like getting free stuff but what I've seen in my experience of many Tesco stores over the last few months has 'politicised' me more than I ever imagined it would. So much so that, even if Tesco scrapped the R&R policy, I would still travel to Tesco and dob them in to TS at every possible opportunity. No question.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

I agree wholeheartedly. What really grates me though is the general CS attitude to the policy. If you have a policy adhere to it or scrap it, don't try to intimidate people out of it.

  • So does there come a time when the novelty of receiving free shopping wears off and you stop being grateful for it then? If so, I guess that i haven't got there yet!
