why ? everything is possible. Nothing is impossible in life. I'm for one is going to take care from now on.

Unless you give information that they could possibly tie with your R&R's , time, date, purchase, store etc then how can they tie a random username on here to a customer?

You didn't give CS your username on mse as well as your postcode, name and house number did you ?

No, that is just to James Bond and totally unprovable

i THOUGHT CLUBCARD INFO WAS CONFIDENTIAL ?

Club card info possibly is.....but swiping your clubcard automatically brings your name and address up on screen...I know this as they printed mine out on the return of a £600 PC.........

Re info on your receipt......It was mentioned earlier about HO requesting receipts, I think Ben mentioned then that it was just a bit more intimidation, as all they need ask for is the details on the bottom of your receipt, from which they could get the details of your transaction from the store.....

Ben, you've worried them all now!!!

I used my cc for my purchase. I don't have anything to hide. I have not done anything wrong. I was overcharged, I claimed my refund as per Tesco policy. Simple as that. If they want to look at my previous transactions, that's fine.

Couldn't agree more, which is why I was happy to fax receipt, just went to prove that the details I gave were true.
  • i just love reading this thread, its better than any soap or drama on tv :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

But you don't use your clubcard for an R&R ;)

Calm down! Paranoia's taking over. Yes, some stores read this thread. CS possibly reads this thread, but I doubt they have time....:rotfl:

At the end of the day, YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG. Tesco has wronged you! Do you realise that there are many more people out there who bought an Xbox 360 over the weekend and saw that they were overcharged, were turned down for a refund and have phoned CS today, yet they do not post on this thread? Hell, some probably don't even read this thread. It would be impossible to link any poster on here to a specific overcharge by Tesco (the wrongdoers in of all of this!) unless that poster gave very specific details, such as store name and date of purchase, etc.

    Seriously, calm down!

  • I think they are asking for receipts as trhey have obviously issued an Email telling all stores to check prices etc on Consoles. If the purchase has gone through after the the Email has been issued then HO will be taking it up with the Store Manager as to why the correct action was not taken?
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

Oh yes, they are starting to use intimidation as a method to avoid complying with their policy, some people will want to avoid sending their receipts for the reasons mentioned, also some may have given false details etc

    one other point

I am sure they will be m,atching the times on receipts to check cctv to check whether anyone tampered with posters or to get images of us all
  • Actually, I think the request for receipts is possibly something to do with store waste levels. CS will have an easier time of getting stores to refund if they can guarantee that the wasted stock (the consoles we've all been getting for free) will not be held against the store's allowed waste level. By asking for the receipts, they can tally up the waste (with proof of receipt) for the individual store.
