Bad luck on not getting it.
I hate going for new jobs because half the time companies already have someone for internal for the post.0 -

You know what! I have a feel that's what happened but who knows!
Anyway.. I come to work.. thought I'd check out the internal jobs board.. and guess what! I missed the ideal job for me closing date was 21st!
Anyhoo.. I phoned up and they are willing to accept my late entry! So I have sent this off today!! It's bascially a central training job I'm currently a workplace trainer so it's very good development for me!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Bit of a latecomer to this thread! Sorry to hear you didn't get the job, you sound as if you did everything you possibly could have done, and I think that's so important. There's nothing worse than coming out of an interview and thinking 'I know I could have done better'.
Sometimes I think things like this happen for a reason though, and I hope that the reason is the job that has come up at your current place of work. I hope you get it, and it all works out well for you. Please keep posting because I am sooooo nosey and really want to hear all about it lol!
Looking forward to reading the happy ending!!

Sorry to hear you didn't get it
But look - you're already sourcing other jobs and the experience you had in your interview will prepare you for you next one.
It's upseting when you apply for a job and you don't get it especially when you want it so bad, but i do believe if you keep your spirits high only you can control your success:T
So stay confident and we are all here to support you. :grouphug:
I had my interview today, and i left feeling on the fence. i didn't know if i shone as much as i could. it has been ages since my last interview so i felt a bit rusty hehe. so now my fingers are crossed too... i hate waiting i was told i would probably find out by next week.... i dont know if i can last that long :rolleyes:тнє ѕє¢яєт тσ ¢яєαтινιту ιѕ кησωιηg нσω тσ нι∂є уσυя ѕσυя¢єѕ0 -
Oh yes.. I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason!!!
Sometimes I read my own sucess wrong! I was happy that I had got through the interview "alive" as it had been 5 years since my last but it really has been a learning experience. The more I reflected on the interview the more I see areas for development which is all good! As I said I'm not particually good as "selling" myself! But I honestly believe it now!!!
I'm also hoping that I'll be able to use the same presentation if I get an interview for the "Learning and Development Consultant" role I've applied for!!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

ooo fingers and toes now crossed for an interview for the internal role!!! I was reading your post where you said you'd missed the date saying in my head, phone them up and ask for a late entry, phone them, phone them - then I got to the bit where you said you'd phoned them and all was right in the world again
Good luck though K9, now you know you can do it there will be no stopping you!!!

Hi K9 - shame about the other job but fingers crossed for the internal job; things do happen for a reason so let's hope this job is the right one. If attitude is anything to go by you have it in spades so go for it!

Basically I done the best presentation, but lost out on the compentency based questions as other candiates that applied have used the systems I would be training. I've always been under the impression that a good trainer can train anything.. wether they know the systems or not! But there you go!
Hope the other peeps that have interviews are more successful then me!!!
Oh !!!!!! but you are right re.....'I've always been under the impression that a good trainer can train anything.. wether they know the systems or not! But there you go!'.............if you are a good trainer...you can......they've just not seen it yet!
Better luck next time hun.,,,:D0
