That BHS one is "bonded leather", i.e., not "real" leather.

I would have thought that the BHS advert was "sailing a bit close to the wind" by describing it as "leather".

"The actual leather content of bonded leather upholstery is typically about 17%. None of it is contained in the surface of the bonded leather."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonded_leather

To go back to the OP:-

I got a sofa and armchair from DFS about 10 years ago - excellent ! Well made, good quality leather, no complaints at all ! (Stands back - and waits for howls of anguish !!)

I did see some reasonable ones in M & S afew days back.

At the end of the day, they are still part of the Sofa Sofa Group, which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

I got mine from Harvey's. It's only a two seater as I have a small living room. I do like it but didn't realise (didn't check in store, should've done but it simply didn't occur to me) that they stitch the cushions down, so you can't take them off to replump or turn upside down etc. That says to me it aint gonna last as long as my last one (12 years and £200 from Argos actually). I had a look at my brother's leather ones from DFS and they were exactly the same.

My comfy chair from John Lewis has got proper loose seat cushions.

Next time I'll go know to check for that.

well of course they will last but they are in no way comfy.Cushions simply dont have not enough give in them to make them so because of the foam they use and they are not ergonomically designed well so give poor support
Problem with Lloyds is you cant try them out before purchase .My current suite from Furniture village is much more comfy

Just right! They're quite firm, but still comfy to lay against.
Here I go again on my own....

I agree, dw is an ergonomist with years of experience and she say that you have to have a tight hard ar*se to use those. :D

I am looking for leather settee for a flat I am about to rent out. http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-3079.aspx

Can I aks you learned ones if this is any good? £299.50 half price so they say. Also 598 points. Not sure if you get more if you order with your Tesco credit card?

Has any one any experience of Tesco furniture? I was interested in someone saying that they had had one from Argos. Are they OK?

As I am renting I want something reasonably robust but not reasonably expensive!!!

Thanks everyone. Such a supportive site.
