Looking for a decent quality leather sofa.
Any recommendations? I see the bargain bank holiday weekend advert have started!

Depends on your budget - decent quality costs.

Anywhere where they aren't advertising massive discounts on TV. They largely sell finance packages tied to a cheap tat sofa.

Google for an independent furniture store in your locality, or good department stores such as M&S, John Lewis or anywhere who sells brands such as Natuzzi. Budget for £500-1000 per person seated (£2,500-£5,000 for a three seater and two chairs) if you want decent quality and something with a 10 year+ frame guarantee.

Not sure about the quality but BHS is doing up to 60% off at the mom

This one looks yummy and was very comfy to sit on at a friends house, but dw only want the ones from Furniture Village, so we are not getting one :p

That BHS one is "bonded leather", i.e., not "real" leather.

    daveyjp's advice above is good.

I second that, while posting stretched out on a very comfortable Aspen 4 seater!

Have a look at the "look inside" section on their website which explains how their frames are made and the leathers they use. It will give you questions to ask about materials and construction if you prefer to shop around.
Here I go again on my own....

Yep, this particular one is bonded, however they do have a lot of real leather sofas and on top of the sale they do another 10% only today.

We bought ours from Gillies of Broughty Ferry nearly 13 years ago, it's still in great nick. It did cost £1800 for a two and a three seater, so not cheap, but if we'd bought them from a stack em high and sell em low type place they'd be in landfill years ago.

Of course if you're not in Scotland then it's a bit of a trek, but at least you will have an idea of brands to look for in your local shops.;)

    Hi,

Our current one is from furniture village and is really really comfy and big for what we paid. We never thought we could afford one but popped in one day just to check and there it was sitting there and we both loved as soon as we saw it! Its a corner sofa which was £1500 down to £900. Seats 4 people comfortably.
