Exactly. I will never pay the 'optional' insurance on any item on eBay if paid via PayPal due to the fact its the sellers responsibility to get the item to you.
Buyers shouldnt have to pay 'optional' insurance it should be included in the postage price stated for piece of mind generally for the seller that they have proof the item was sent.
All the sellers who try and force buyers to take out the insurance as an extra obviously dont really know the law when sending paid for items through the postal system.0 -

You can guarantee they know exactly the rules on this, Its just another way of increasing the non fee paying costs.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

"Hi As stated delivery is at your own risk, terms and conditions are clearly stated, you refused insurance, 2 non payment strikes and negative feddbacks will be issued, on completion of claimback due to theft."
So, now I'm a thief too...
That'll be libel then.
You've got a real odd seller there. If I hadn't read this thread I would have assumed that he was a newbie as he seems totally unaware of how it all works. Can a long term and experienced seller still be TSFE I wonder?
I don't think I can add anything to the advice you've already been given to chargeback and stick to your guns, but I wanted to say that I hope it all goes well.

Thanks Soo.
I think he knows exactly how it all works, and is just trying to "run me off" before PayPal get involved. Silly boy.
I have escalated the claim for PayPal to resolve. I have also replied to the seller, ever so politely.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Exactly. He knows what he's doing and just trying it on. It is working, even the OP came here to make sure, I would as well in those circumstances. A powerseller can't be wrong can they...
I had exactly the same outcome as you mrbadexample, branded a thief... It's a shame no one is policing unfairness out there.:wall:0 -
I've been thinking about this...PayPal haven't yet made a decision. As soon as they do, and refund me, the seller will hit me with 2 NPB complaints.
What if I pre-empt this with a NPS complaint? Would that stop him being able to make the NPB, as I will have got in first showing that I paid but did not receive? :think:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
