  • It helps to be distracted from the ' task' at hand or shall I say 'bottom'? I am thinking about putting book shelves in mine.

I'm a girl and have always read on the toilet - would draw the line at making phone calls, though:eek:

How disgusting. If you want to read a book or a newpaper you have a nice comfortable chair in the lounge, the kitchen, the bedroom, anywhere to read - not the toilet!!

But what you cannot do when reading a book sitting on a comfortable chair in the lounge, kitchen or bedroom is simultaneously purge ones self of ones bodily waste and fluids.

There is nothing wrong with multi-tasking!

Doing that could redefine 'talking a load of $h!te'

Is that shelves in the toilet or your bottom:eek:???

Known some that will make them in the bath though. Cannot say that appeals either unless you are talking 'dirty'

    ;)

  • I am a girl who reads on the loo and in the bath - both me and OH read on the throne. Preferences are Garfield books, catalogues that have come through the door and if all else fails, junk mail!

Oh thats ok then! Its disgusting. And no you don't have to pull your clothes back up or touch them at all before you have washed your hands!

You stroll to the sink with your trousers round your ankles, wash and dry your hands and then pull them up??

    Yeah right, course you do!

Well definitely not just a male thing.

Like others, we have 2 shelves in our loo which have a collection of joke books and magazines and whatever I am currently reading.
Also a copy of "Are you sitting comfortably?" A scatological scrapbook of Sh... and all about it. Great present for anyone dedicated to a regular sit.

We have always found the idea of shelves and books in the loo has provided good conversation from visitors.

Thought it was just our family! We always had a shelf of books in the downstairs loo at home - collections of short stories, extracts from other books or generally things that were reasonabley "pick up, put down".
Now I have a selection of books in my loo/bathroom including some of the Horrible Histories, poetry and a collection of Stephen Fry articles amoung others.
For reading in the bath I take in whateverr I am currently reading anyway. Reading on the loo is a specialist area!
  • A Dr I once knew said it was the only place he could study in peace and quiet. I am not sure I would want to go to those lengths but catching up on the sports pages of the daily rag is about the right time length
  • So, what do people read on the loo? Slow cooker receipies?:D
