Admit I read on the loo and have a library of magazines ....and novels in my bathroom.0

My OH will happily sit in there for 30 minutes at a time reading a book/magazine and even on the phone to his mates.
Anytime I hear anyone on the phone, the conversation always starts with a location.
"I'm in Starbucks"
"I'm in Asda"
"I'm on the train"
"I'm in the station" etc etc
Does OH tell the mates where he is....?0 -
I'm a lady in my sixties and have always read on the loo! I agree with Sybersal, it's not at all unhygienic if you do as she says (which I do!)0

I sometimes grab the mail and read it if I'm just in the door and need the loo (just a wee)
DH will not sit down on a loo without something to read, even when we're abroad we will buy an English speaking newspaper so he has something to keep him functioning - it's old news by the time it reaches wherever we are, so to be MSE he uses it a few days in a row...:money:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I read while on the loo, sometimes even surf facebook and MSE via my phone :rotfl:just passing through.... Nothing to see....0

I read on the loo, and have done so from an early age, so much so that my brother renamed it 'the reading room'. my family used to sneer at me, but over time had to (quite reluctantly) admit they'd started to do it too. i've introduced my husband to it. and to all people who are wondering how you manage to read anything - who says that you do it only while you're doing your job?
as for hygiene - i don't see how it's unhygienic, i think this is more a case of 'unclean' branding, and anyway your urine is absolutely sterile and if it's not you need to see a doctor asap.
yep, i am a girl0 -
Girl who reads, and occasionally plays games on my mobile... I think that if you read/do something on the loo, you're concentrating on something else and it relaxes the muscles, so it all comes quicker - I only ever get to read a page or two!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0

I usually take my ipod touch so not only can I read ebooks, but I can play Angry Birds as well. I read in the shower as well but only paperbacks which I just hold upward with whatever hand is away from the spray. For people talking about hygiene aspects, it's pretty bloody simple. You don't flush with the toilet seat up and that way you don't have to worry about things being backsprayed all over your bathroom. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0

To be honest, both me and my Dad (so a boy and a girl) are of the opinion, you go in, do what you need to do and get out. I don't get why you would sit in there?! Sit on a couch and read with a cuppa, go to the toilet to do toilet stuff?!0
