Martin, why do you refer to "Mrs MSE" when you're gay?

Where did you get the idea that Martin is gay? He's married to TV weathergirl Lara Lewington. (aka Mrs MSE, I presume.)

R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was.
  • My husband likes to joke that he passed his degree exams by sitting on the toilet, studying until his bottom fell asleep. We have piles of stuff in both bathrooms, I've given up fighting it. It MUST be a NEW piece of reading material each time, no reading what's already there in the pile. It's completely annoying, I personally don't have time for it with our hyper toddler son. Husband says that's the only place he gets any peace and quiet (and I get peace and quiet when...?) Our toddler son got him today though, ha-ha, he knows how to unlock the bathroom door now!
Seems to be mostly a manly thing, women are usually too busy keeping absolutely everything ticking over!

I'm a girl and I read on the loo, so does my dad. My sister watches videos on her phone. I'm always reading at least one book (right now i'm divvying my time between 3 - smoke book, normal book and bedtime book) so I take the one I'm reading to the loo.....it does help having something to concentrate on, especially if you've got funny tummy

I do it all because I'm scared.
  • I always read whenever I've got a few minutes.:j So yes I read on the loo and I'm female. :) It's a good place to escape to because the rest of the family do not like to intrude. Not concerned about the hygiene issue because the book is put down once the business is finished and hands are then liberally washed. Didn't realise there was such a debate about it all. My hubby never reads in the loo but other male relatives do. ;)
  • Well, When i was back in my country where most of the loo are not of Western type, I used to smoke..
A friend of mine who helped :) me out to quit the smoking habit suggested me to read something while in loo.. believe me it worked. nowadays cant sit there without something to read..

I read in the loo....I subscribe to 4 glossy magazines a month (cheaper than buying them in the shop) and find that it helps me relax!!! :rotfl:
  • We always keep a stash of magazines in the toilet and it's a well known bolt hole if you want some peace and quiet. In fact my 7 year old son reads Top Gear on the loo as it's the only place he can escape his younger sister!!!!
  • Time this thread was renamed 'Do you read on the loo? bog discussion'!
Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to p*** us off.
  • In our bedroom the TV is positioned so I can just about see it whilst on the Loo, my wife is exasperated by this.
Women are from Venus - men just watch telly on the loo.
