I just don't know what to do, I'm the only one in my department, so it's not even like I will be reapplying for it, if the position is gone, it's gone.
I so don't want to have to stop ttc... :(

Oh darling, I understand how upsetting that thought must be.

What can you do to save your job? Try writing down a list of everything you can think of. It will help to focus your mind on the positive, OR, potentially recognise that you can't do anything.

I know that sounds like it could be a negative thing, but it isn't, as it will allow you to then focus on finding work elsewhere during the next two weeks.

It would also be worth updating your CV and looking for jobs in the local area (or anywhere within commuting distance). If there aren't many jobs around, start to think about what you want to do and who you would like to work for. Then you will have a list of companies ready for you to approach with your CV and a covering letter saying something along the lines of 'I am looking for x, y, z work and am really keen to work for your company because x, y and z. I would therefore like to ask you to consider me for any potential positions you have available'.

Also, use your contacts and see if there are any jobs going in their company. Particularly those who work for international companies as they are more likely to have vacancies.

Sorry, if I'm babbling. I just find it helps to focus on what I CAN do about a situation.

More ((HUGS)). Will you receive any redundancy money that will tide you over for a few months?

Thanks Euro, I work in HR, so it was horrible to be put through a process that I set up!!
Does mean however, that I have a good knowledge of local agencies, which ones to use and which ones to steer clear of!!

Sorry, didn't mean to post that so soon!!
I will get redundancy which equals about 2 month's money and will get my notice, so I have a little breathing room...

OK, that's good. And excellent that you know the local agencies well too. Both big positives that you can focus on.

I would also suggest tightening your budget now, to make the redundancy money last longer. I'm sure you will find a new job quickly though, and if you do, you will some of that redundancy money set aside for baby stuff! ;):D

Sorry to hear that mrsvicx ((hugs))
I was told last June I would be made redundant (I work for one of those government agencies that is being abolished) yet almost a year on I still don't have a definitive end date, just a ball park of about three months. I know I am lucky as I've had that income for the last year and have had plenty of warning to get used to it but the uncertainty is hard.
I hope that it all works out well for you in the end. Sending happy thoughts your way

Sorry to hear your news about your job mrsvicx, I've been there and it's horrible to be in that position. Luckily I managed to find something quite quickly so fingers crossed for you.

Well, what I thought was CD1 might not be, not quite sure what's happening but I'm sure "proper" AF will be along soon...
  • Well after a really strange cycle af seems to have come right on schedule :(
At least it means another month of weight loss

Mrsvicx - sorry to hear that you might be made redundant. Having been through it myself I know it's really not nice at all. Although these things do seem to have a way of turning into something positive (not that you think that at the time) x

Fannyanna - if I have understood your issue correctly, I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of periods.
I was on the injection for years (4/5 maybe?) then came off it 4 years ago.
From what I remember it look a few months for my periods to go back to normal and I did not have one in all the time I was on the injection. My periods have been more stable and less painful since and as said elsewhere I have a true 28 day cycle which I understand from here is a perfect cycle?

Oh - and before the injection I had horrific periods. As in fainting/time of work for the pain. I cannot tolerate any oral pill (have been on each one since 15 due to horrific periods), and cannot take the injection due to my low bone density.

What I am saying (she gets there eventually) if you have been on long term contraceptives it takes a while to get a normal cycle but, for me at least, it has no long lasting cycle effect. To my knowledge obviously I've not been pregnant before.

    Thanks Praline.

Funnily enough I think I may actually be about to ovulate (pretty sure I had a postive on an OPK last night) so just goes to show that you don't need periods to still be ovulating :)

    How exciting!
