Oh, I had to leave work early yesterday for my psych appt, and decided to walk to the metro station (rather than take the shuttle bus) as the weather was so nice. It was lovely. I hope the weather is nice where you are too ladies. Today is another sunny day, but started off cold and foggy.

I have Wednesday - Friday off next week :D OH has the whole week off and leaves on Sat to visit his brother (mainly) and his Mum and StepDad. I am flying out on the Wednesday to join him, but wanted to give him and his brother some time alone first, so they can talk properly (I doubt his brother will want to bare his soul with me there).

Am hoping the weather is nice so that we can all spend some time outside enjoying things.

I hope you enjoy your week off too!

    xx

  • Hey hey ladies,

How chuffed am I????? VERRRRRRRRYYYYYYY is the answer!!!

So the story so far!!! I'm on the Tony Ferguson plan started off at 15 st 6lbs and had my 1st weigh in last week which said 15st 11 lbs .......
    or so I thought!!!

So I was sitting this morning getting ready to finish my sleepover and decided to look through my 'receipts' for my previous weigh ins and as I was looking at it I noticed that my BMI was less for my larger weigh in, checked again!!! Turns out I was 15st 1 lb last week and had actually had a weight loss of 5lbs in a week!!! Well chuffed!!!

Weigh in stated today that I've lost another 1lb so that's 6lbs in 2 weeks and I'm now 15st, which for me is danger weight as I always get stuck here!!! I'm determined not to this time!!! I'm only my 3rd week in after all!!!! ;)
    CHUFFED CHUFFED CHUFFED!!!!!!

    Hello everyone

I hope you don't mind me posting, I've been a lurker on this board since November 2009 when we first started ttc.

I got my first ever BFP on Friday and because I've always found this board so helpful I wanted to give something back a bit and thought I'd post what worked for me. I know everyone's different but I hope this helps someone or at the very least gives someone hope.

Bit about me: I'm 32, DH is 40, neither of us have ever had a baby before. I have long cycles - usually ov around day 25 and have a 10 day luteal phase.

Here's what I did this month, which seems to have worked...

Charted my temps - been doing this since June 2010 and it's what helped me work out my o date. Invaluable. Recommend Fertility Friend.

Used opks - to reinforce what my temps were showing me, don't rely only on these though - this cycle I had 3 pos opks after I'd ov'd which could have been misleading, so use with temps to work things out.

From cd14 (for me but if you have a shorter cycle would say sooner) bd'd every other day, then around 5 days before I thought I might o we aimed for once a day. Kept up bd through positive opks until sure temp rise. As it was we bd's every day for three days before o, on o day and the day after o.

Took cough medicine with guaifenesin in from around 8 days before o until it ran out. Had a teaspoon three times a day.

After bd always propped my bum up on pillows and lay for at least half an hour. Sexy!

    Didn't drink alcohol at all.

Drank one cup of tea per day, I don't normally drink much caffeine but I read tea helps ttc.

Kept my feet and lower back warm, made sure I was aways comfortable.

    Used preseed for bd.

I got my bfp at 11dpo. The thing I realised is that things aren't text book. Because of the things I'd read I worried about my long cycle, my short luteal phase and everything else. I looked for triphasic charts, implantation dips and implantation bleeding, I searched for symptoms.

When it actually happened to me there were none of these signs. On the morning my period was due (11dpo) my temp dropped a bit (I was expecting a spike if I was pg), I didn't feel nauseus, need to wee a lot or anything else - the only sign was my lack of period. I felt I was getting my period and still do have mild af cramps.

So my advice would be, don't put pressure on yourself if you aren't a 'textbook' case with a 28 day cycle and o on day 14, you're still 'normal'. Don't beat yourself up searching for 'perfect' pregnancy signs and don't give yourself heartache by testing early - make things easy on yourself and wait till af is late or at least due. The rollercoaster of emotions you go through when testing early isn't good for you - I know - I've tested early ALOT!

It's easier said than done but have faith, it will happen for you, look after yourself, love your other half (don't make them feel like a baby making machine!) and know your cycle so you can bd at the right time. That's what will work.

I wish you all lots of luck

    xx

Wow thats good news Deb, no wonder you are chuffed!! I would be too.

Its lovely here too in sunny Shrewsbury, I've just had my lunch, salad and cottage cheese and been for a walk round where I work, even saw ducks all sat in a row in parking space in next doors car park :) I so don't want to be sat at my desk for the rest of the day. Enjoy your time off Euro, hope it stays sunny for you!

Keza I have no idea when to test... am just baffled. any ideas? Poor you on cd56 though!! Bet that will be me soon :(
