:( Hope some stilton/sushi/wine/raw steak/runny eggs makes you feel a bit better :o;)

ETA: Lazarou - ditto for you :o

    Don't ANSWER it!:D
    Oh trust me, I don't!!! ;)
It can be quite hard to stop your brain wandering though, especially as MIL has a lot of health issues, so you end up wandering whether she's alright, or what she's mithering that she wants us to do/get for her!
I like to think my eggies are waiting for Mr Spermy right (and maybe vice versa). They don't want to hook up with any old sperm, nothing wrong with being choosy :p
:rotfl: Oh aye, they've got high standards alright! :rotfl:
Hope you're feeling better bigz x
Well, I had my hair lobbed off and coloured (similar to this in style, but my hair's naturally brown with copper and blonde highlights put in) yesterday, which is quite dramatic and makes me feel like a new start really has begun iyswim? :D And I've dropped a couple of lbs this week and back on the diet, so feel like that's going quite well. :) And my temps seem to be less up and down everyday, and been doing plenty of "the deed" (despite some spotting), and... FF has now tenuously - for the FIRST TIME EVER - put in a possible ov line! I don't think it's right, mind you (and I'm still spotting), but it could be :p We shall see...;)

I would've thought that a) your doc needs lessons in bedside manner b) the scanner is more right c) you need a second opinion from a gynae who actually specialises in this area (I don't think the doc can withhold the referral til he's diagnosed either tbh) d) you gp sounds like he's stabbing in the dark and you really shouldn't worry too much cos I'd thought if scans and tests have indicated PCOS, it's more about your doc not specialising in this iyswim? I hope you're not too upset :o

I was quite upset earlier :o the poor phlebotomist offered to give me a hug because I was still all teary when I had the blood tests done. But I've had a good chat with my mum now and DH has said he'll come with me to the appt next Weds, so that makes me feel better.

I'm mostly confused because I felt that all the results (and feedback) were clearly pointing to PCOS (albeit mild pcos), and then suddenly the doc is saying he doesn't think so but not giving me any other diagnosis, and also refusing to do any of the things that would help (like gynae referral). My mum pointed out that since I've moved house in the last 6 months and haven't changed surgeries I have a legitimate reason to swap GPs and get a second opinion.

Your new hair-do sounds lovely by the way as well bigzee ;)

Thanks as well derby! I know they're busy people, but surely more blood tests and another appt are counter-intuitive if they want to get rid of me! Nevermind, hopefully next Weds I'll get some more answers!

((Hugs)) for emsbet, colli and lazarou as well.

PMA - it's so nearly the weekend!!

I end up taking DH to most appts these days, especially ones I think might upset me... I hope the blood test results help give a more definitive answer too :)

I can't remember your back story now  how long have you been trying? What made you go for tests in the first place? Do you have regular periods/just come off the pill? Etc? :o

    Thanks :)
I put it up on fb and a couple of people have commented that I'd lost weight too, which is always nice :o

Not sure how well the diet will fare today, I've just been invited to a taste test this evening!!

We've been 'officially' trying since March, but I came off the pill last July, had 5 months of fairly normal cycles (between 28-34 days, most around the 32/33 day mark). Then after AF in early Jan I missed a period in Feb (was very excited) but had 4 successive BFNs, I went to the dr and they said to come back if I didn't have another period in 6 months.

That cycle ended up being 76 days. but I had AF so thought it was just a weird blip. Then missed another period, got two more BFNs and thought something was definitely up, also noticed that I'd quite quickly put on a fair bit of weight (mostly around my tummy) which isn't like me. I walk between 5-10 miles a week so it's not like I don't do any exercise. Then I noticed I was having to bleach my 'tache more often and stray dark hairs were appearing on my chin, jawline and the tops of my arms. Plus I noticed a 'skintag' on the inside of my thigh. I did a bit of research and those are all classic symptoms of pcos.

So went back to dr and told them I thought it was pcos and they should test. That cycle ended up being 88 days. They did bloodwork which came back as high testosterone and low progesterone, everything else was normal. I also had an ultrasound scan which showed 'mild pcos' according to the consultant, but according to the dr was not 'definitive' enough . So now more bloodwork to see if same results or better/worse than last time. I'm currently on CD23 but have been POAS since CD11 and have now given up as clearly no ov is happening and it's another long cycle.

Mmmmm! My DH is making me a low-carb pizza this evening with a cream cheese/egg/parmesan crust. First pizza I've had in months, can't wait :T But taste testing new cafe food, that sounds amazing! How did you manage to get invited to that??

Frustrating. I would be in the mindset that you have it, deal with that, carry on with the diet, etc. Unless they put you on Metformin (which is hit and miss) or Clomid (which has it's own risks and they only like to give it you for 6months from what I've seen) they'll do nothing for you anyway, iyswim... I don't mean that to sound bleak - I mean that it in a "regardless of whether all the docs agree with each other, you're still the one in control of your destiny" type of way. I hope that makes sense? :o

Mmmm that sounds tasty! My friend's church is setting up a cafe and when I asked what she was up to tonight she invited me along ;) It's not about what you know, it's who you know! :p
