Trying for a Baby Part Six

Thank you QQ, that was really helpful. I've had the CD3 test, and that looked to be relatively OK (I was convinced I had PCOS).
A friend of mine tried for 3 years to get pregnant, and when she went for further investigations (the put some blue dye through her system or something) she is convinced that cleared a blockage or something in her tube, as she conceived the next month.
Anyway, it doesnt hurt to know any of this, especially as I genuinely have a feeling I will have problems conceiving now.Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
BB, I am convinced my OH would say to me, that we couldnt try again this month, i was *such* a nightmare - AND it was our first month, I am embarassed to say - so I definitely know how you feel! ((hugs))
I desperately need to lose 3-4 stone to be back to comfortable with myself. I've given up smoking (1 month, 1 week and 1 day! wooo!) and I've completely cut out caffeine, so now I am ready to diet. For some reason I just DONT have the willpower with food, it is SO frustrating.
Anyway - I pay monthly for WW, just dont follow it or go. Grr! I bought some bathroom scales today to FINALLY get myself on the bandwagon. I reckon standing on them in the morning, will be an incentive (after I breakdown and cry for 6 hours!!)
Well done on your gym efforts! I hate exercise, so for me its totally about cutting out the food, BUT I realy do need to exercise too. One thing at a time! *sigh*Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
Hi everyone, I'm not a TTC-er, just after some advice. I'm hope its ok to post here, really dont want to offend anyone (usually a lurker and know it has been getting a bit heated on here lately)
DH and I had unprotected sex on 28th May (too much booze after the champions league final!) we are usually so careful to use a condom. I am pretty sure I ovulated sometime around then (Last AF 12th May, usually 30-35 day cycle). Last Sunday (about 7dpo ish) I had strange pains like AF cramps but really dull, went on most of the evening,I never get cramps only on the day on my period, maybe the odd twinge beforehand but nothing continuous like that.
I just don't feel 'right'. Felt a bit nauseous when eating breakfast yesterday and today, i'm sure it is waaaaay too early to be getting these symptoms if I was pregnant and it is probably some kind of bug. I took an early response test tonight and got a -ve, by my calculations its about 9dpo now, am I way to early? Sorry I am a bit clueless! Thanks for any help you can give.0 -
fannyanna, try not to fret. even if you didn't ov this time round, it could just be your body finding its way again - you had a very long time without any period, after all! plus, apparently it's normal not to ov every single cycle (although maybe that's just what people have been telling me to make me feel better about the fact that I only seem to ov every other cycle...!)
I've had my mope and I'm feeling better now. Plus you're right - I have gone a long time without a period and I need to take baby steps (no pun intended - ok slightly intended)
Well, I must confess I (for the first time) had a bit of a melt down last night re TTCIt was awful, I felt so sorry for my poor DH, who didn't know what was going on! Basically, as I've said, DH has thrush and therefore we haven't been able to BD for the past couple of weeks. I knew I was due to ov any day (I think it was actually today - have had terrible ov pains), so was frustrated about not being able to BD. Anyway, last night I was really horny and one thing led to another...and DH insisted (quite rightly) on using a condom. Afterwards, all I could think about was that we've missed another month's chance...then when he made a throwaway remark about how if horniness was a sign of ov, then I was definitely ov-ing(!) - I just burst into tears!! I was properly hysterical for about 10 mins, and he had no idea why...poor him
Once I managed to tell him, it was ok and he gave me a big cuddle and we chatted about it etc, but I think we were both quite shocked at my reaction.
Awww, hugs. But I bet you feel so much better for it!
In terms of exercise-doing and weight-loss, how is everyone else doing? (I know a few people said they needed/wanted to lose weight or improve their health & fitness). I've been religiously going to the gym 3 times a week, although I missed my usual monday night class due to my train being delayed by an HOUR! I downloaded a calorie-counting app too and have been doing that for a week so far. Weighed myself today and have lost 1lb - a bit measly but I haven't got that much to lose so I can only expect it to creep down slowly.
Wow check you out little Miss gym chick. 1 lb is a great loss - especially as you said you haven't got much to lose.
I have literally just signed up to WW. I've put on so much weight recently and have been making half hearted attempts at trying to lose it again. Plus I'm thinking ahead - if I need clomid they wont prescribe it to me at my current weight so I'd better get my butt moving and do something about it. And of course it's not too clever being pregnant whilst obese.0 -

That sounds like it could be a positive. You can get them quite early.
Maybe try again in a few days but it sounds like congratulations may be in order.0 -
They can see the corpus luteum. If you have a scan before ov, they can see the follicle (bag containing the egg), and after ov, they can see the remains of the follicle at the same place.
I've seen mine, both before, during and after ov. The during ov one looked like the bottom bit has burst and water was spewing out:cool:
We all worry:o, but try to keep busy:)
As usual thank you QQ. You really are a font of knowledge.0 -

So sorry I've just read back and realise I mis-read your inital post. I thought you said you had a positive on the test but just seen you said negative.0 -

thanks
i struggle with willpower too, especially when it comes to cake, as people on here will testify...!
however, you have already proved to yourself that you DO have what it takes - you have given up smoking, which apparently is really hard to do :T well done!
I was listening to a fitness podcast today where they were discussing some research into the habits of people who had lost a lot of weight and (importantly) kept it off. Over 90% of the successful people had done it through a COMBINATION of diet and exercise. It's very difficult (not impossible) to succeed doing one but not the other, so I would really encourage you to try to work some exercise into your everyday life. It doesn't have to be the gym - do something you enjoy, so you'll stick at it. Walking whilst listening to a funny/interesting podcast is a good one - start with just 10 mins a day and build up gradually. You'll get a buzz out of it, which will encourage you to eat more healthily as you'll feel better about yourself - it's a double winner!
(sorry, I don't mean to preach or go on, just trying to be encouraging)
I've had my mope and I'm feeling better now.

LOL thanks!
Like you, my main priority is being healthier through pregnancy. Makes it easier (in theory) to conceive, carry, give birth to, and raise, a baby:)
(Also, I really want to be one of those women who have a lovely neat bump - where they're slim everywhere else but it's obvious that they're pregnant, rather than have just eaten too much lunch...!) :rotfl:
