Trying for a Baby Part Six

I feel like I've been away from here for ages but it's probably only been a couple of days.
I'm kinda not trying at the moment but I'm not waiting to try if you know what I mean. Now that I've started Metformin and have had my first period (in what feels like ever) I'm kinda just enjoying my body doing what it should do and I'm very curious to see when I get my next period. I worked out that if I have started ovulating it would be happening around about now but I'm not going to try as I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday for a physical check up following the doc guessing I have PCOS. In my mind it just doesn't seem right to try with that looming. I've never had a smear or anything so I'm sure i'll start getting terrified nearing the time. I'm a bit of a prude about getting my bits out but I suppose if I'm TTC I need to get over it at some point
I started a diet on Monday and so far I've lost 8lbs. It's called the Harcombe Diet (it's a low carb diet so like Atkins but not as bad). I'm feeling pretty rough today buut I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I move onto the next phase and can start eating more carbs. Mmmm porridge.

I put off having one for years because I was I was terrified that it was going to be traumatic but then I had to have one as I was ill and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me (it ended up that I had Glandular Fever that wasn't showing up in their tests so it was kinda pointless! :rotfl:) but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be.
I always figure that the doctors have seen a lot worse than my bits :rotfl:
I think the key is to stay relaxed, the more tense you are the more uncomfortable it can be :cool:I started a diet on Monday and so far I've lost 8lbs. Nice to have you back!

I hate the idea of it but it's gotta happen and I'm sure once I'm pregnant I'll suffer a lot worse indignities
I know it's silly but the thing that scares me is getting a bad result. But I'm just being stupid and ultimately if it is a bad result at least they'll be able to do something about it!
And let's face it I should be getting this all out the way and making sure everything is ok before I get pregnant.
Thanks for the reassuring words x0 -

You're welcome
Everyone feels anxious that the results might be bad but like you said if they are then it's better to know so that something can be done sooner rather than later.
Good luck with it all.

I'm thinking more about the poking, prodding a scraping down there.
If I did BD and it worked would the doc then be messing with any little beans? I have visions of the doc scraping a bean away
Your uterus doesn't get scraped during a smear, it's just the cervix.

Thanks guys for the hugs, just feeling sorry for myself at the moment.
Doc has said that as I came off the pill in Dec I have to give it to Sept (9 months) before I start worrying about no AF, but that they would prob recommend the pill which would just start it all over again. Its quite normal apparently. I advised we were TTC and she wasn't overly concerned because of my age, and the fact we already have DD. She was very nice and said that it qas likely that stress was also playing its part and I could have a touch of PND and I needed to relax and try and look after myself a bit better, ie not doing housework til 9 at night everyday and worrying about the house being perfect.
Had a little cry and felt better that they are not worried but frustrated that nothing can be done yet. Feel quite drained now though so just dossing on the sofa watching DD empty her book cupboard all over the floor and then tidy them all away again!
Fannyanna- I never even feel smear tests, its just the 'duck' that I find uncomfortable (basically how they hold you open to make your cervix more accessible), I usually just talk at 75 miles an hour the whole time and before you know it its all done.
Congrats Kim on BFP, and fingers crossed for everyone else still waiting to test.
Hugs to everyone that needs them, hope you are all looking forward to a nice Bank Holiday, xxBoots: £107.xx on AC :j

My wife & i decided as much as we would love to go for the duofertility and even with the money back guarantee after 1 year having to pay £500 at this time is just to expensive so for now we are going down the clear blue option to find out when the ovulation days are..
We so want to have a little brother or sister for our beautiful 4 year old daughter:o0 -

Not smear? Are you getting an internal scan?as I came off the pill in Dec I have to give it to Sept (9 months) before I start worrying about no AF,
Hope you'll get your AF or BFP sooner than that:olivenlearn wrote: »My wife & i decided as much as we would love to go for the duofertility and even with the money back guarantee after 1 year having to pay £500 at this time is just to expensive so for now we are going down the clear blue option to find out when the ovulation days are..
