If your partners use laptops that they rest on their laps try to make them use a cushion or something as I've just read that they think there's a link to low sperm count.

Could be a load of rubbish but it makes sense - laptops do get quite hot after a while and heat and balls don't go together well :D

My mum always used to tell my partner off for this actually! I haven't noticed he does it anymore but I do :p

    Good luck for tomorrow BB

I hope I don't scare QQ off with my dream about her...:o

But in my mind if I have periods, I may also ovulate and then I actually have a chance at getting pregnant :D
I have the same feeling... I'm aware I've not gone as long as you though - 8 months would've driven me round the bend!! I'm surprised the doc didn't give you Provera first tbh

Bigzippy- Think we have all had to go down the xmas paper route for wrapping paper, I make out like I meant to do it as a joke :D.

Wish I was good at hair and make up...I haven't got a clue!
Well, I always buy Christmas wrapping paper that doesn't have "MERRY CHRISTMAS" emblazoned all over it for just such an occasion! :rotfl: Niece even said "oh you did find some then?" and I had to own up that it was the paper from Christmas. She wasn't at all bothered though, and altho I put her 3 little gifts in a gift bag, I think the unwrapping - no matter the paper - is part of the fun, especially at that age :)

I never said I was "good"...just better than my sister! :rotfl:
Just wondering, I know a few people on here have mentioned they suffer with IBS as well as me. I take Mebeverine and my doctor told me (after looking in a book!) it would be fine to carry on taking while TTC and wondered if anyone else was taking it and what they were told. I'm not looking for any medical advice, just what they have been advised about it. Just had a quick look online and it seems you can if you think the benefits outweigh the risks (not sure what they are!) but I don't want it to interfere with TTC or if I was preg and I found out something was wrong I wouldn't be able to live with myself :o. I only take 1 tab a day as that seems to work, and I know I would struggle if I stopped altogether.
I have IBS, I have a stash of mebeverine and colofac. I try to control it by diet rather than using them, but I do have a tablet every now and again when I need them. I've come off virtually all my regular medications to TTC though, so while it is draining and everything, it's 'just another thing' to come off this one. I would think, personally, that one tablet a day is not a lot and the less you have the less risk there is. I personally would stop using them when you get the BFP anyway, as -apart from anything- pregnancy hormones makes the digestive tract more sluggish anyway so you'll probably find you won't have the same problem/issues anyway?

There's a website called safefetus.com (I think, from memory) which would probably tell you a short breakdown in the issues found from each medication, but take everything you find on there with a pinch of salt and a dose of GP advice, as it told me one of my meds (that doc said I can stay on) was as dangerous as the other meds I've had to come off (I checked with GP again and it isn't)!

I'm intrigued by the dream now Charlie...

Ah lovely :) Welcome (back) tingwings. I saw some of your posts on the 12wk thread (when I wasn't lurking, honest :shhh:;))

Ask around and see if there's a friend you can borrow it from to try it out.
Local libaries (and rental shops actually) have games for hire too now, you could try that before shelling out for one? Or maybe get a "preowned" one from Gamestation/ebay?

I suspect there was a troll (nasty poster who has nothing of value to say) and they were reported (probably by Phunkles) and post deleted :)
    Ok, here's my dream:

I joined the secret FB group and was curious to see what QQ looked like and I was looking through her pics (god I sound nosy!) and QQ's pictures didn't really show her but then I found some and she had really white vaneers and jet black hair (all I remember!) I then noticed that there were pictures of a boy which turned out to be her son! It then seemed to cut to me being at QQ's house as I didn't think something was right (QQ's house was like this old abandoned farm with out buildings, loads of different animals running around outside). So I ended up there with other people from this forum and men from the TTC men's forum (hehe) to investiage more and we ended up finding QQ's had a daughter hidden away in the attic!!

So now I really sound batty and sorry QQ but I don't really think you hide children in your attic :o

It's the same as them not wearing tighty whiteys and lounging around in hot hot baths and such... heat+swimmers=bad news :) It was the first thing DH did when we got married, stopped putting the laptop on his lap ;)

Charlie I doubt QQ is that troubled by your dream...someone else had one with her in a bit back actually - might've been Pawpurrs? And it sparked off a big "what does everyone look like" conversation :)

Well, I've no idea what's going on with my cycle, but I'm knackered so I think I'll be off to bed now. Sleep well all :)

I haven't read back fully but QQ I cannot express how I feel about the IVF. I wish you and your husband all the best and hope you remember that you have each other. (I'm not very good at expressing myself lie this, but I send you my thoughts).
    Thanks:o
We have talked about our future without children, and it's fine too.
I just want to try all avenues so I won't regret it later:)
    How are your parents?
My mum is fine, dad is getting better. He can open and close his right hand, no probs with arms, shoulders, back, and his legs may be fine too. He's not allowed to move much until all the nerves have healed. He's eating normal things, and talking fine too:)

The doctor wants to see how much he recovers before thinking about an op.

TTC-ing news - well, I think I'm in the ovulation period, Mr Praline's app advises that I should be, but neither of us could be bothered to BD often. (I think only twice in the past week). I haven't been using the ovulation tests as.... well... I forgot:embarasse.
I still haven't seen what a positive looks like. :rotfl:
    Relaxes approach is best:cool:
It was negative as expected - I had to remind him that milk is not a friend of my stomach and I had already had 2 coffees one which he made himself! A true DUH moment (I tested anyway just in case).
If you are in your ov period, you can't be pg yet:D

CD97....maybe i'm one of those very rare people where im preg and it isn't showing on the test (I can wish!) :p
Do you feel pg? I suppose you could get a blood test, or check your temps to see if it's high:)

Welcome back Tinkwings (love DDs name BTW, its beautiful)
QQ- Glad your dad is getting better
Mrsvicx- Hope you feel better soon, we have had a very nasty cold type illness going round here and it was awful so you have my full sympathy (DH thought he was the illest person who ever lived when he had it!)
My PMA for today-Going to get my hair done as a treat, think I'm going a brighter red than usual and having a bit of a fringe put in, but will prob chicken out when I get there. Also, rainy day = no hay fever for me today!
I think I will go for the job (once it is ready to go to advert) and see what happens. Last time I got promoted i then found out 2 days later I was PG so wouldn't want to do it again if I was lucky enough to be offered the job as that just feels really cheeky.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a fairly quiet one, DD had a birthday party and the amount of PG ladies there was unreal, or maybe its just that you notice more when you are TTC. Quite pleased that I didn't get upset though and only jealous in a nice way.

Morning all. A quick question about temping. I'm not expecting to be ovulating this month, but would my temp still drop if I don't ovulate? Only started taking temp a few days ago, so curious on what a 'normal' chart would look like :)

Anyway with the alcohol and lack of sleep I didn't bother temping today I have however I started my OPKs yesterday. No line yesterday but early this afternoon there was a very faint line and about half an hour ago I did another and the line was still fainter than the control but darker than it was earlier. I know that a faint line is a negative but is the fact that it has gotten darker over the day a good sign or does it mean nothing at all?

Hi Emsbet. Yes, a darkening line is a GREAT sign!! I never ever got a control darkness line on my OPK's, so i just went for the darkest i could get. As soon as i started to see a line at all, the BD'ing started, and the darker the line, the more frequent the BD!.
Worked for me! I think in all i had a line of some kind register for 4-5 days, gradually darkening, and then just disappeared, so it was everyday for the last 2 days.
