It was a relief to get home... 'Til I saw more birth announcements on fb from old school friends. For some reason, knowing they're my age, I've known them for the last 15yrs, and they're (usually not married - which isn't a big deal to me, until I get the "it's not fair, I did it the 'right' way round and I'm still waiting" feeling) there with their perfect little bundles... One of them is rather modelesque and photogenic too and had some really nice (and classy) bump shots done (black and white, lovely nursery shots, in their own home, the works) too, and I was turning a rather nasty shade of green. :o I end up having to "hide" the person from my wall feed once I find out about their joyous news. And then I feel horrible. And then unhide it. And then my mood tanks again. And if I do manage to keep them on, I end up hiding them when their baby is born and all the newborn shots are published... :o
I sometimes have people hidden from my feed. If I do that then it means I can choose to look at their profile for updates when it's a good time rather than things just popping up for me to see potentially at a bad time.

Now some mornings I'm kinda awake before my alarm goes off but I'm still lying in bed half sleeping but where I'm a bit awake I toss and turn a lot. Will this have an impact on my temperatures?

Also some mornings I wake up with the cover over me and some mornings I wake up with it off me and I'm naked (sorry of TMI). Will that make a difference?
I would just start temping and see how clear your chart is. I usually take mine at seven when our alarm goes off but if I'm awake early I might take it then and if I wake up needing the toilet say at five then I'll just take it then. Also if I have a lie in I just take it when I wake up. I do get rogue results but it doesn't stop me being able to tell when I ovulated and generally the really weird ones are ones where I can't think why.

Hubby would also like to take something. Am I right in thinking they recommend zinc for men? Anyone heard of anything else a daddy-to-be should take?
I have heard that zinc is good for sperm quality but haven't looked into it yet. I did tell OH the foods he likes that are high in zinc though by looking through this list: http://www.foodcomp.dk/v7/fcdb_foodcomplist.asp?CompId=0065

Mum got dizzy in the middle of the night, so dad tried to move her somewhere, slipped and dad can't feel a thing below his neck.

huge hugs QQ :( Haven't read to the end of the thread yet so not sure if you've made a decision yet over what to do, but hope you might have heard some good news from back home by now :o

Your dad's injury/symptoms might be caused by shock to some nerves. I wiped out once whilst attempting a jump skiing, landed on my back and couldn't move my legs for a short while. I was absolutely fine a few hours later - the theory was my spine had a nasty jolt and the body's way of dealing with it was to "shut down" until it was sure it was ok! Sorry if that all sounds a bit flippant, not intended - just hoped it might make you feel a bit better that your dad's injuries might not be as bad as it sounds :o

Right, going to read on a bit now.

    Yeah exactly.

I tend to go back to congratulate them at a time I'm prepared for it :)

    PMA:
I can still get in my old jeans. I have more time to lose some more weight, and therefore reduce the risks to both me and a carried baby when it does happen :) I have more time to suss out what's going on with my waterworks and have the tests without worrying about affecting a baby.

And if you keep the jeans that you shrink out of, you can use them for that really annoying stage in pregnancy when you're too big for your normal clothes but too small for your maternity clothes.

    That's the plan :D
I've got tops and allsorts, in bigger sizes, so shouldn't need too many specific maternity items :money: ...bet it won't stop me though ;):p

I refuse to discuss those names outside of me and DH cos people can be VERY opinionated and I wouldn't want to be easily swayed/have them tarnished. Or is that just me? :o

We're exactly the same - we won't be discussing names with anyone else. My family love to force their opinions on other people and wouldn't think twice about speaking their mind about any name we chose! We also won't choose a name beforehand - will probably have a couple of options for boy/girl and decide once we see the bub! :)

At least there's someone there with them, not that they necessarily helps how you feel. Is the other going to travel over to be with them?

My temperature has tanked. I'm still getting -ive OPKs. I'm 13DPO (if I did actually ov on CD30) so I think either AF is on it's way, or I didn't ov when I thought I might've and I'm in for another mammoth cycle. Either way I feel empty. And lonely. :(

PMA for the day....I'll have to come back to that one.... :(

I'm sorry you're feeling sad BigZippy :grouphug: I hope you're wrong on both counts and that your temp was just a blip and will head upwards again tomorrow :o

My hubby has been taking zinc - when he remembers...! :p Apparently studies have shown that zinc can boost the number of normal sperm a man produces.

So...news from me....well, I'm on CD10, and have had some crampy twinges which COULD be ov. Previously I've been certain that I've had ov pains, but they've been on the LHS whereas this was on the RHS (I realise that's to be expected, but because it's in a different position I can't be certain it feels the same). BD-ed this morning and I'll try to jump DH this evening too :D (if not tomorrow morning!)

Thanks to whoever joined FF from my account - I've got 5 free VIP days :j

I went to the library on friday and took out a copy of "Take Charge of Your Fertility". I'm about a third of the way through and it's very interesting so far - although TBH I've learnt most of it already just from being on this thread! (you clever people!)

No other news to report, I don't think. RE the craziness that's been happening on this thread, I hope we can put it behind us. I think as long as people try to be a bit sensitive, there's no need to feel overly "censored" or constrained about what you can and can't say. I hope no newbies have been put off, and I hope that all of the people that have threatened to boycott the thread will poke their heads back in at some point.

Have a nice evening all :)

    Evening all,

Not a lot to report here, apart from we DTD this morning before DH went to work (he starts later on a Saturday), and the brown discharge seems to have finally stopped! :T I'm looking out for signs of ovulation in the next few days, and hopefully we'll be successful this month.

Got a headache and feeling a bit dizzy this evening - think it may have been the filter coffee I had today at Starbucks - haven't had a proper coffee for a while, so think I may need to give them a miss and stick to my Redbush tea.

Moon is going to cook the dinner tonight at some point - stir-fry with noodles, and I've also told him that he needs to start taking the zinc supplements in the cupboard (I have them in the house to help my immune system when bugs seem to be going around schools).

Think I may go and have a little lie-down as the cat is on the bed at the moment, so he will keep me company.

Hugs for anyone else who is on CD1, or who is having a rough time of it at the moment.

    sexymouse x

    ETA - what is FF?

She going abroad for work from Monday for a week, and it's really important for her, so she's at same sort of stage as me.
Both our hearts are over there:(
