    Random question alert...

What supplements does everyone take and what are they suppose to do for you? I've started taking folic acid, to be on the safe side, and my personal trainer said I should start taking fish oil capsules (for various reasons, not just pregnancy related) but what else do people take? I don't want to start taking ten supplements a day, am just curious!! :D

It was me that Emsbet mentioned that was on Agnus Castus and managed to TTC first month trying. I started on the Agnus (also called Chasteberry) in order to improve the regularity of my cycle, as my Luteal phase (basically the time the egg has to implant after ovulation before AF starts) was too short. It has been used for many years to help with all cycle problems, and is mercifully side effect free. I started on it 4 months before TTC when i realised about my LP problem. They say it takes up to 6 months to really kick in, but i noticed a difference after about 2 months.

I also started on Pregnacare Plus tablets in October. They are a two tablet pack, one with Omega3 stuff, and the other with folic acid and other bits. They got the best reviews when i was researching which to take, with lots of women getting BFP quickly when taking them. The only thing i have noticed is that the pregnacare do make me ever so slightly constipated (and very dark poo! Sorry TMI!) if i dont have enough fibre but thats the iron in them.

    Hope that helps.

    congratulations too clare xx

I just want to say something on the serious discussion yesterday. Yes some posts are insensative - but they arent meant that way. People are excited.

Looking at my dates - ok, so i wasnt trying for long but you know what - I've had the heartache too.

Every single person on here who has fallen pg has felt a twang of guilt because one of you lovely ladies hasnt - we arent rubbing it in your face - we REALLY do want EVERYONE to be pg but its not the way of the world. There are ups and downs and in a forum full of hormonal women it may seem difficult - but we should all support each other - regardless.

(mini rant! but a well intentioned one)

    It does make sense.

Don't go away. Upset is bound to happen on a thread full of ladies who are TTC. It's part of life that things are going to upset us and the only way to avoid it would be for us all to go and hide away from the whole world until we have a baby in our arms. But if we all did that we'd get pretty lonely and I think the company of other people experiencing similar emotions is worth the risk of upset.

Thank you, if I'm still welcome I'd like to stay, this thread has been so valuable to me already.

As I said yesterday, it was never my intention to upset anyone and I am truely sorry if I did.

I was aware before we embarked on this journey that is was going to be a rollercoaster of emotions I just wasn't prepared for how quickly it would hit. forgive me if I'm still adjusting to it all. :(

Thanks for the information Kira! I thought it was you but wasn't sure. Can I ask how many tablets you took a day? My bottle says two, twice a day and at the moment I'm taking half that (Don't know why, I just am )

Congratulations again Clare! :j I'm sorry that my case of foot-in-mouth took away from your announcement!

QQ - I know you've done the list already but can you change me to CD1 please? Thanks

    xx

Yes, t'was i. I was taking 1 tablet twice a day (two in total). Mine were Swanson brand, and 400mg tabs. Yours may say 2 x 2 (4 in total) if they are not as strong. Have you checked the used by? Not sure how long youve had them- you did mention they were left in your drawer. If they are more than 6months old, they may have lost some potency, so might be worth getting some new fresh ones to be sure! I bought mine from amazon. They also sell some 1000mg tabs by Natures aid, which will prob be 1 x 1, if you dislike taking tablets!

Not wishing to TMI too much, but i was never one for EWCM before, but about 2 months after starting on the tabs, i started getting ALOT! Almost to the point of feeling like i had AF or a little accident! So they definately helped me!

Thanks again. I checked them the other day and they are still in date - mine are from Holland and Barret and I think the are the stronger ones that they make but I will check.

I hope they work as well for me as they did for you! :o

Hope you are doing well with your little bean

    Morning ladies

WonderWomble - :hello: How are you doing?
BB - I love that your DH was reading over your shoulder and chuckling about BD last night :rotfl:
emsbet - big hugs xx hope you're feeling a bit better today
lisa26 - well done on your target weight!
calamityclare - :j:jWOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! Congrats hun! The start to this month is great for the PMA!! :j:j
GreenerGrass - I have only just started using soy but no spotting yet. Maybe it's just random mid-cycle spotting?!? Our bodies do the strangest of things...
    mrs_dave - enjoy your hols!
euronorris - hugs for the confusing AF. Don't go xx

Don't have a lot to say today as the PMA on here has been up and down over the last 24 hours. I personally just ignore any posts that I don't like and I'm sure lots of others do the same. We are all here to support each other through the ups and downs and at all stages. Sometimes, people will be hurt or offended by things that are posted but I think that is the case on any type of thread, it just makes it harder with all of the hormones.

Hugs to everyone who wants them :grouphug:

    Good morning to all :)

I wanted to post on the topic last night but can't put the words I wish to say into writing! I struggle that way a lot in life!

I think being a forum of ‘mainly’ ladies it doesn’t help, as someone said overleaf ‘it’s the hormones’ (well we tell ourselves that anyway) lol :p

I wouldn’t begrudge anyone their BFP no matter how long they have been trying. But can fully understand how people can get upset and even offended by some of the posts on here or on any other forum. I try to go through life with the attitude that although it may not be my turn, it will come. And I must say the good old saying ‘there’s always someone worse off then you’ has helped me a lot over the years. If I took everything to heart I’d be a very sour grape by now. Yes to see the lady across the road from me who doesn’t work, has 6 young children, is a drug addict and is always having deliveries of new furniture, clothes ect makes me sad and I could cry sometimes to think she has been blessed with 6 children and here me and hubby are trying to go down the right roads in life with slap after slap in the face (TTC related and not), I guess I’m trying to say if you look for the bitter and the bad in things you will find it, it’s much harder to look for the positives in life but if you can in any little way it will save you a lot of heartache and upset in life (not to mention the grey hairs).

With regards to babies I think to myself, yes you are pregnant and going to have a beautiful baby but I’ve got all that to look forward too, my time is still to come, at least its not over yet (if that makes sense). We decided to TTC 3 years ago but then my sister fell pregnant with her first and we decided to wait, let her have her limelight so to speak, now her little one is older and out of the baby stage I feel very excited that my time is yet to come and all to look forward too. Anyway rambled on about myself there a little too much but I felt sad for how some people felt on the forum and wanted to show support for them (Hugs). :o

Now I’ve gone and forgotten but for whoever’s off on their honeymoon have a fantastic time :D

:j CONGRATULATIONS Clare, wonderful news for you and your oh, I wish you both all the best and a healthy, happy pregnancy.

Right OPK number 86 this morning and I'm half contemplating giving up doing them but then after all this time surely it can't be much longer :(
