Iris - my tip would also be to only write one review a day, as I got advised by someone else that writing a couple in one day was worse for my rates.
I think dooyoo is quite interesting and it doesn't take me too long to bash out my opinion of at least 500 words on A or B item.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Is it a genuine review site or do people get their friends to vote for their reviews? Is this the case as I haven't any friends, I'd be stuck ! :rotfl:
I know it depends on points but writing one a day would get me about £20 a month - Is that roughly what I can expect?I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
It is a genuine site, and people are quick to suss that you will rate back if they rate you. I am aiming for one a day, and i am getting 20-25 per month.
You could go all out and write say 100 reviews and earn your £50 by one or two people rating every review, but you will run out of things to review very quickly, and in the end none of the regulars will rate your work.
I find i average about 40 rates per review, but sometimes as many as 60. If i have written a category one 60p review, i might wait a few days and rate others as much as i can to try and get more rates on that review.
You can build up a circle of friends who will rate your work pretty quickly if you put some effort in. It is definitely a reciprocal site, in that people repay rates.
I honestly get a lot of satisfaction from writing and people saying it is very useful. It works my brain a bit too. I think you will know very quickly if it is your thing or not, and it isn't that hard to get to £20 if you get fed up.0 -
Thanks for that. Well I'll give it a try until I reach my first payout then I'll decide if I'm going to keep it up or not.
I feel like you do at the moment and feel like I'm going from one site to another though. I'm probably panicking a little as from the end of next month I'll officially be a SAHM which doesn't help the mortgage application!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Oh I forgot to say that I now officially have £2 to put in my ISA pot after my Mr M's visit today.
I saved :
£1 coupon from 6m+ powdered baby milk ( baby blue who can now roll over AND manover himself around the floorisn't 6 months yet so I've stashed it for a month )
£1 coupon on some cordiel
They are items that I'd normally buy anyway. I have a few baby milk ones which I'll buy over the next few weeks as they expire in May
£2 down ..only another £4598 to go !
Meal planning
I've been reading tonight, something unusual for me as I don't normally make the time. It's a free book from MSE. "Eat well , spend less" and it's got some good ideas and recipes that I'm going to try out over the next few weeks. I've not quite finished it yet but not that far off. I was surprised how relaxed I felt reading it as I normally just find it another chore.
This weekend I've finally completed a meal plan with the bits of stuff I have in, it honestly looks like my cupboards are bare but I've planned for the month. We'll still need milk, bread and cereal but at least the meals are basically there already. We are averaging £110 pw on food inc nappies and baby milk so I want to reduce this. It's going to be hard as we don't eat a lot of convenience foods as it is, although I buy snack stuff - They'd be a uproar if I stopped this completely!
To get the bill down some more I think I'll take a look at buying some basic nappies ( an idea from the small things thread ) for when we are in the house ( most of the time at the mo) , it's hard though as I wouldn't like them to get nappy rash and I think it will only save £1.50 ..it could be false economy. I need to look in to it properly. :think:I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
regarding nappies do you use brands at the moment?? I do. Currently in our local Mr A in the bashed packaging bit is packs of natural fit H brand nappies for £2.16 size 4.. I bought 2 packs but let loads, apparently packaging is changing and all mr A stores nationwide have been told to clear out the old style packaging.. possibly worth a look for you. Boots nappies are supposed to be good and I must admit I lurk on the boots threas for nappy grabbits and stock up in bulk.. I will pm you next time a glitch is on if its not someplace you check.
I'll be you DY friend.. I think you can have friend circlesMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
I used to sometimes use boots nappies on my two and they were ok. I couldn't stand huggies as i found they leaked, but then again, my friend loved them. I'd heard somewhere boots were equivalent to pampers. I could not fully agree, but i was happy to swap between the 2 brands. I'd not have trusted any cheap nappy for bed time though. Maybe just me but both mine went through phases of sleeping on bellies and waking up with a damp patch at the top of the nappy anyway, so i didn't want leakages and wet beds.
Lidl pull ups are fine. DH once bought them instead of nappies when i sent him shopping.
You should be able to avoid the nappy rash if you change them often. With little ones anyway, as soon as they poop you know about it don't you. I never left mine sitting in it for more than a few minutes if we were at home.
I sent that invite last night for you. If it isn't working, let me know and i can resend it. I am trying to work out how i can do the stuff i want to without being online as much, but i will just have to drop some stuff i think. It is not all worth me spending the time on it.
And lilac are you planning on getting into it too? I added you to my circle of friends ages ago. Feels like you haven't been round for a bit. New babies take it out of you don't they. lol0 -
I am.. see i'm the opposite I cannot stand pampers nappies always get leakage with them but I get on well with huggies. I wonder if its a boy vs girl thing??
My aim is once things settle down to concentrate on 2-3 survey sites, DY and matched betting. I have a blog with adense on it that makes about 15p a month so considering trying to write and promote that more but its just recipes and gardening/GYO so not very interesting..
I am spending less of my online window posting here and more trying to actually make some cash.. less talk more actionMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Nappies, always found huggies leaked (both girls, not sure if that makes a diff). Mr T nappies, though, were always fine. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

I normally buy pampers simply dry from am3zon £10 for 100 delivered free and looking at prices of B0ots ones I’m getting a good deal as it is.
Mr T value ones are £ 1.99 for 28. 4pcks = 112 nappies for £7.96 so a saving there if I only used them in the house.
Mr T other nappies £2.99 for 26 4 packs = 104 nappies for =£11.96..dearer than what I get now.
There is a offer on (probably on all the time) 3 packs = 78 nappies for £8 ..I’d gain 2 extra nappies from this offer..not worth it.
I put both the babies in size 4 for ease and baby blue is big anyway. I’m not sure of his weight. I’ve given up with washables as they always leak on him. I’ll have to look at the Mr L ones but so far I’m not sure it’s worth it.
Thanks LP I’ll look in Mr A tomorrow when I pop in for some socks. I hate huggies too but they’ll do in the house. - Yes PM me please if you see any offers about...and I’d like to be your dooyoo friend too
I got the invite through thanks Michelle; I’ll follow the link this week
DH was taking his "get to work" car to have the MOT done today – he’d been driving it about for 2 weeks without it. Not intentionally - we'd forgot , something that I'm angry with myself about as I'm normally on the ball about such things. He’s just started it up and the starter motor has gone! That’s going to be about £80 to sort. It never ends. It can come out of my car maintenance budget that one.I’m not having it come out of the other budgets even if it’s unplanned! We're now going out to buy one ourselves to keep the cost downI can't be bothered updating this anymore0
