Good luck Iris. Actually, i was thinking the same about MSE time. I read the diaries every day, whereas you could read a different couple once a week and still keep up. I think actually the new thread i started with all the small things is actually more important to read more frequently.

Good luck with it Iris

Good luck Iris. I suspect once I am working I will have less time for all the diaries, but I like the chatty community feel of the diaries. The "all the small things" thread is more concentrated tips which is a good way of getting new tips but I would miss the feeling of sharing the day to day lifestyle if I gave up diaries.Debt at highest: £8k. Thank guys. TBH my head feels clearer already and I feel positive about it all.
I’ve got loads done today and planned bits of money making stuff to do over the next few days:
• We’re taking our 22” damaged alloy to be scrapped tomorrow so hopefully a few £’s there. Maybe £7 or so, I’m not sure.
• Take photos of highchair, swinging chair and Clarks shoes so that they can be put on Ebay.
• Sending off the blu ray films to music magpie
My gutters have been cleaned and sealed – costing £50. The old ****** next door (insert what you want ) had got his son to block off my gutter in between the 2 houses so that my rainwater wasn’t flowing through to his and down his spout properly, he did this with a very large pebble. :eek: For some strange reason he has another 2 pebbles further along on his side. He’s a nutter. He came out and was saying to my roofer how I’d never had the gutters cleaned in 9 years. My roofer ignored him.
Right off for a quick scan of the daily thread as I've already done more than my hour on here this morning!

Day 2 of staying away from the MWF board and it’s going well. The house is tidier , I’ve slept better not being on the laptop before bed and I feel less stressed. I've not managed to exercise yet as DH is on nights this week and I find it hard to get the Dvd's out as we go about on tiptoes as it is never mind me jumping about. Hopefully we can get out and about and walk to the Post office tomorrow, providing this wind goes.
Good news is that we got DH’s compensation money through for the car accident,( notice I said WE :rotfl:) it’s going towards the CC but I’ve banked it for now so that we can gain interest on it and I’ll pay it off just before the due date.
We took the broken alloy to be scrapped and got a whopping £13, I was expecting about £7 so that was a pleasant surprise. That’s gone towards an OP. We both discussed how normally we'd have just got rid of this and that it was a big change for us to even think about going to a scrap yard. We have both really changed the way we think.
I’ve signed DH up for a market research interview and I really hope he gets it. It’s for £100 for a webcam chat and he’s up for it. ( No not up for THAT! :eek:..it's all above board) I know not many men would do it on camera.:p He said we can OP it if we get it. How lucky am I!
Things I need to do next :
Still Ebay – 3 things to go on
[STRIKE]Go to Post Office or preferably Superdrug to stock up on stamps before the price increases. I don't know if cheaper at Costco but I'm not a member anyway[/STRIKE] Done - got some coming free delivery with Ocad8 order 15/3 !
[STRIKE]Post Music Magpie stuff tomorrow[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Think of more things to do ...[/STRIKE]Done!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Day 3
I've lapsed a little today and spent more time on MFW than intended. I don't feel that I've got that much done either but then again I've felt shattered as DD got up at 5:15am so we went downstairs at 5:40 - much too early.
We've been to the PO for a walk and walked the long way back so I got some exercise there. I'll buy some stamps at the end of the month before they increase in price. I was going to get them from superdrug 5% off from 16/3 but they only do 1st. I don't send anything that important.
I was wondering on whether to stock up on some gift vouchers as DH can get them as part of his employee reward scheme through work. I was going to get some Boots ones today but you need to order £100 worth. Tcb was offering 342 and 10% cashback on what I wanted so I decided not to shell out on the vouchers in the end. It may be worth while stocking up on them though. The boots ones worked out at £93 for £100 vouchers. I'm going to give it a think. I sort of run my budget year to year anyway so it would work out. Decisions.
Plans for weekend so far :
*[STRIKE]Order Ocado shop as son brought me a £15 off £60 shop voucher which is better than the £15 off £75 code on there site [/STRIKE]
* Photograph items for ebay
* Sort out DD's wardrobe as 12-18month clothes getting too small for her.
* [STRIKE]Pay holiday balance - on last possible day[/STRIKE]I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Funny we both lapsed on the same day. We'll get back to it. Internet is a necessary evil isn't it. We'd be a lot worse off without it.0

Saturday dinner time already and I feel like I've done a million and one things already.
I've booked a online free delivery slot with 0cad8 (10pm-11pm ouch!) using a £15 off a first shop voucher. I've put the £15 to the mortgage. It was slightly dearer than Mr T’s so I stocked up on baby milk, and 5 books of 12 2nd class stamps ( before they go up and i think our corner shop charges more anyway I often get them there when I've run out), chicken on offer and other bits, not much normal food though but I'm also planning to get some essentials from f 'arm f8*ds and use a £2.50 off coupon there next week so I should be o.k. I'll op that money too. So £17.50 OP money out of thin air!
I received my mortage annual review statement today and it really tickled me to see all the little payments come out. Theres loads! It amounted to a good few more pages than I normally get. I've checked it and it doesn't tally with my spreadsheet so I think I'll have to go through my old statements and tick them off as I go along.
I've paid the £350 holiday balance off in full this morning. Me, DH and the babies are going away for 4 days to Cornwall for my birthday and staying at some lodges that we've visited before. They are stunning and have a jacuzzi. I've paid for my mum and dad to come over from France for the week and look after the other 4 children who are more than happy to see gran. So, for a 4 day break it's got quite expensive already but it will be our only holiday this year with wanting to move home.
Lotto tonight - We're in it ( to win it ) fingers crossed for all that play! (but more so for us)I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
