UPDATE
Been in touch with FLintshire CC..I spoke to their bond scheme but we are sadly not eligible...and have also spoken at length with the homeless team..and been told that to qualify for even emergency housing we need to be homeless or threatened with homelessness AND on a low income..we are not on a low income but sadly still have outstanding debt we are paying off as our house sale did not cover all of it (we were almost in negative equity when we sold due to the housing slump)
Unfortunately they no longer hold a list of accredited LL's
We today turned up for a viewing on a property to be telephoned whilst sitting outside the property to be told that the LL has cancelled viewings as the previous tenant who moved out yesterday has trashed the house..she has now stipulated that she will no longer allow children in the property
We have trawled through Rightmove..nothing..
later when I get in from work..I will get a paper and look in the small ads in the back..0 -
Just a few thoughts on finding a property: the paper will usually be very out of date as the deadlines are a couple of days before publication, and this will particularly apply if there aren't many houses to let in the area. Bug the estate agents, ask them what appointments they are going out to, ring them every day and make sure you are the first person they think of when they get a new property on the market.
If it's rural I would expect a lot of things to be done word of mouth style, so I would say get some notices up in the shops, get hubby to go down the pub and ask people, you never know what you might find that way. Another thing to do is have a look at properties which have been for sale for a long time, the owners may consider renting it but I know this isn't going to be ideal as it will probably mean you will end up moving again in the next 12 months. Just thought as well, in our area there is a church bond scheme, but be aware that many agents will not accept it. Might be worth just seeing if there is one and seeing if you qualify.
It's a horrible situation that you are in, I really hope you manage to get it resolved.Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0 -
Thanks...
have phoned all letting agents in the area and left details..
cant beleive how many phone calls Ive made in the last week0 -
Have you had a look on the National Landlords Association website? There's a "Property To Let" button down there on the left-hand side where you can search by post-code. It's possible that these properties aren't being let via agents, so you could get lucky.

Thankyou! I will have a look straight away:j0 -
Sadly LL assc website brought up one house in the flints area..
I got some paperwork today from the Flintshire Bond Scheme..and it seems we wouldnt qualify because we have children!..Im totally bemused..apparently the bond scheme only helps singles or couples with no children0 -
Did you contact the landlord? Even if they don't have anything themselves right now they might know other landlords who do.0

am i missing something here? your 2 boys will share a room, the 18week old is in your room and the 6 year old girl is in her own room surely? thats 3 beds. the 6 year old can cope in a box room
are your husbands employers able to give him a loan, interest free to take out of his wages, seeing as its their misleading that got you losing your home in the first place
i also echo the CAF idea, just because your son is high functioning it doesnt mean he doesnt have needs. a child with a disability is automatically a 'child in need' under the children act and therefore is entitled to services if his health and development is in need, in your case this is true because the change, uncertainty and housing issue could affect him0 -

I have said in an earlier post that we are looking at 3 beds too..in fact tbh..we are just looking at anything now within reason..obviously we couldnt all move into a 2 bedroom house or anything..
I will look into CAF..tbh its been a long emotional journey getting his diagnosis because he was so high functioning that the school refused to acknowledge there was a problem..now he has a diagnosis..they are refusing to statement him...
with everything else that is now going on, I am feeling fairly wrung out:(0
