Anyone Else think Tesco Groceries Home delivery has gone down hill?

Hi All,
Just interested in others opinions on this.
Ordered my shopping 8pm last night, got a text at 10am saying it was on the van.
When I received it 35 items I ordered were not delivered out of about 100 items, so about a third of the items went out of stock I guess between 8pm and 10 then next day!!
They weren't random things either, they were nappies, washing powder, batteries and pasta etc.....
I called Tesco to complain and the guy pointed out that none of the items were guaranteed to be delivered.
When the subb'd items used to be paid for, I would always get a sub, but today I barely got any.
I ordered several packs of pasta and they subbed them with 1 packet!
I mean did my local Tesco really run out of washing powder and nappies?????
I now have to drag myself to Tesco to finish my shopping tomorrow, boo!
I think this is pretty poor service but the Tesco customer service guy didnt really care and basically told me thats the way it is!!

I am really annoyed at Tesco, just waiting for customer services to call me back. Every time I order there is some problem or other and I always vow never to use the delivery service again... Had my order delivered about 20 mins ago. Only one substitution - yay! Most of the bags all soaking wet, smelling of vinegar (no vinegar in my shopping), contents of the bags all soaked, cereal boxed soggy and burst, labels peeling off tins - booooo. Also, they gave me the most puney little courgette I have ever seen and a pineapple the size of an apple, I don't believe that the pickers pick the best items on the shelf, more likely the ones they know no shopper would pick up off the shelf. Such an inconvenience, after spending time yesterday shopping online I am likely to have to go to the shop tomorrow and do it myself. A few months ago Tesco delivered my shopping order twice in 2 days (their error). When my husband explained this to the delivery driver he told him to keep the second delivery, we wouldn't be charged and if he took it away it would end up in the waste as they cannot resell food items that have been out of the store. Checked bank account, shopping had been charged to our account. Phoned tesco, they said it was somehow our error and they would come to collect the items 3 days later (meanwhile they were taking up space in my fridge, and some of the items were going off), but they never arrived to collect them, despite several phone calls asking when they were going to collect! However, we did eventually get a refund. Anyone have more luck with any of the other supermarket home delivery services?0

I've had a few tesco's shops when free delivery codes are about and been dissappointed each time with my fruit and veg...small and wilted.
So i tried asda the other week free delivery and was happy with the fruit and veg...i know some have complained about the standard but mine was all firm and good size, but they sent me an email to survey the quality of my stuff ie sell by dates, freshness...so seems they may be trying to buck up after complaints. But i only shop were i can get free delivery :T
Next i'm gonna try ocado and sainsburys, i rotate it according to the discounts board.0 -
I find it very unusual what you describe. When I order from Tesco, there are usually 2-3 items missing or replaced out of 100,but often nothing is missing. Perhaps it depends on location?0

I had a bad experience with Tesco for my last shop.
They handed me the list and were about to leave when I pointed out to the two delivery guys that about half the shopping was missing. They went back to the van and were absolutely ages. They came back with that part of the shopping (mostly household stuff) and the bags were covered in a bright purple liquid. They said that another shopper's blackcurrant juice had leaked, but it hadn't gotten inside the bag. I was so fed up of waiting, I said that it was fine. They put the bags on my carpeted floor and left. I picked them up and realised that there was a peculiar smell. I very quickly realised that it wasn't blackcurrant juice (which they must have known) but that it was a bleach-based toilet cleaner. It didn't even smell just bleachy - it smelt like real toilet cleaner, just disgusting. It HAD gone inside the bags, and everything smelt awful. I had to take it all out and rinse the packing before throwing it away.
The pink cleaner stained my kitchen worktops, and worst of all, bleached a part of my carpet. Plus, the pine nuts I bought from them gave me Pine Mouth (although that's not Tesco's fault, I feel annoyed at them!). Ugh.
I've gone back to Sainsburys. I've never, ever had a problem with them. They deliver in one-hour slots and are always prompt. Quality is better, too.
Tescos would often turn up late. Once, I had a 2000-2200 slot, and the driver called at 2200 to say he would be half an hour, no later, and was 2230 okay. I said fine, no later. He didn't arrive, so I texted him back and said not to come as I was going to bed. I also put a note on my front door to ask him not to knock. At 2345 - nearly midnight! - he arrived and knocked on the door. I was livid, but I was so tired I didn't have the energy to complain.
Sainsburys all the way for me, now!
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
Ive tried Sainsburys this week for the first time because I had a £10 discount voucher and Im very happy with the service but ive always used tesco in the past, ive never really had much of a problem with them, a few substitutions here and there and a few missing items but i have noticed that since they started to give you substitutions that may be of a higher value and not charging the difference anymore i dont seem to get hardly any substitutions, funny that xMarch 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000

It's up to the picker to choose the fruit and veg. When we were trained we're told to go for the best that's there. If I wouldn't eat it, then I don't expect others to, etc. The substitution thing isn't a good thing though, IMO. It's a bit gash.0

I had no problems with Tesco fro 2 years then autumn last year the standard went way down...one big football match and they would be down drivers and the stuff would come 5 hours late. Final straw was when they didn't arrive at all with no call from anyone...when I got through after 2hours of phoning to someone in Scotland!!! I live in London and a customer advisor waffled on that he had spoken to the manager and he would ring me back blah blah...3 hours later no call back eventually a driver rang from the depot to say he was going home as his shift had finished so I wouldn't be getting my order ...this was 7pm my order was booked 10-12 am...never got an apology I e mailed my disgust and never heard a thing so would not go neear them with a barge pole...Mr Sainsbury has my custom and they have been brilliant...the staff are failingly polite, never late..one hour slot...
Tesco I think just got greedy booking too many slots for drivers who had to drive long distances in London traffic. I used to feel for the guys as they told me their routes and how many deliveries they had to get through...0 -

Not sure if this is the right place to post.
Ordered from tesocs a delivery, they sent it round but items where missing, were told that the missing items would be sent the following day.
Yesterday, i wasnt in and the other half took delivery. Turns out they delivered the whole delivery again and charged us twice.
We have pointed out the error. one Tesos employee said that we'd get a refund and the food would get picked up and thrown away as they couldnt resell. Another manager has said we wont get any refund for 3 days aftyer they collect.
Any suggestions on where we stand regsarding getting our money back due to a Tesocs error?2010 wins: River Shoes :j, McCains Chips, toy dog

I stopped getting my order delivered when week after week they brought me bread with the following days date on, & meat that went off in a day or so regardless of the fact I put notes on to say if they didnt have a good date, dont bring them. I do my shopping weekly, I expect the meat to last that long.COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER0

Tully - This is similar to what happened to me. Be persistent, keep phoning them. Very frustrating but hopefully you will get your money back. Everyone in the call centre seems to be a 'customer service manager' which doesn't help matters so I would ask for their senior. In the end I phoned my local store and they honoured the refund for me. Oh, and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bother to collect the shopping, they never collected mine.
After several calls to tesco the other evening, the driver eventually collected the soaking wet bags of shopping. He advised us that the smell wasn't vinegar, as I had thought, it was infact wine from another customers order which had burst all over the shopping (must have been value wine). Why did he bother delivering it knowing the condition it was in?! Anyway got £20 of e vouchers from tesco for the inconvenience so used them to reorder the items which had been damaged.
