  • Please...could anyone help with the code to unlock the above numbered Clarion radio/cassette. Recently bought a 106 with no code available for the radio. Have tried researching but everyone wants money for this service. Have seen one code posted but doubt it's the right one for my model as it involved a no. 6 which I don't think I can enter as my radio only has 5 preset buttons.

Help in this would be much appreciated!!:(

You have to press the appropriate button six times, nothing to do with a sixth button.

E.g. if the code is 1623,
    press button one once,
    press button two six times,
    press button three twice
and press button four three times.

If it has an M****** serial then yes. Try pressing 6&1 or 6&2 together. If that does not give the serial, M or V prefix, you are going to have to pull it from the dash anyway.

thanks for the advice do you know if 'Autoleads Audio Release Keys PC5-93' are the correct keys for me to remove the radio? these are on sale in halfords for £2.50, i could go and buy them today :j

edit: after doing some searches i think its the PC5-132 i need? only £1.33 on ebay!

PC5-132 is the correct key, 4 keys and 2 people make it much easier.
  • Thanks for that Wealdroam...still doesn't help me with the actual code though. Husband's having a go again now...it's actually his car. He - apparently got the code from a website earlier but I'm not convinced its the right one. Don't know how many attempts you can have before it permanently locks you out too!! Sooo much trouble for a bit of music in the car!!:o

The Clarion PU-9971 is an older radio that uses a different (hardwired) system for its code...so will require further technical advice if you are still looking for a working code

    Try emailing

    restoredclassic@aol.com

and they will be able to offer help etc.
