Sorry the only CLARION code that can be calculated on any of these free Help Boards is if you have a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C70000000 ----

    see

If not, then you will have to try the Main Dealer or one of the Professional Radio Decode Specialists.....but it will cost you !

It might be cheaper to buy a replacement radio (off Ebay?) complete with code .

Many thanks for the reply. I have the stereo code, this is not a problem. i will leave it swiched on but my question is how do i start it, with AS pressed and then leave it for hours and the 8SAFE will change automaticaly in code ---- or i swich on normal and then turn of and start with AS? This is my dilema, what metod off starting?

Pressing AS plus the ON button , you should here a "beep".

Now leave it SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED....until it resets itself.

This can be anything from 10 minutes up to 640 minutes (nearly 11 hours) as it will depend on how many wrong codes have already been entered.(the time doubles after each wrong code)

I've pressed AS+On button, no beep, just 8 SAFE display. As we speak the ignition is on the streo on and undisturbed, the car is locked with the other key :). I will leave this way, the code was entered just 2 times, hope i don't have to wait 11 hours. Many thanks again, hope it will work.

    Update:
I've cheked the stereo after 1 hour and it was off, despite de fact that the ignition was on at position I, now i've put it on position II and restart the procedure....hope this will solve the auto off thing
PS: Does the fact that i have a CD in, affects this? I can't get it out...safe mode prevents me dor doing that

    Later Update:
Ok now i'm completely angry and sad, i've checked again the stereo and again it turned itself OFF despite the fact that the ignition was on at position 2. I don't know what to do, it was never instaled another stereo so the wires were not changed but the stereo turns off automaticaly. Please some ideas?
  • Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me out here, my car battery went flat on my 1992 ford escort, and so i now need a keycode for the radio which i cannot find anywhere.
    my serial number is M011846.
i have a 4 hour trip tomorrow and it would be even more horrible without music!!
    many thanks

I know that some radios switch off automatically after approximately one hour ( eg Vauxhalls).I believe that this is to prevent flattening the battery.

The only solution is to remove your radio from the car and wire it up directly to a battery supply ....and leave switched ON overnight.

Use a spare battery or a car battery charger .
