is that serial is off the radio and not out of a book?
and you are pressing 5 to store your code.

yeah thats the serial from the sticker on the side of the unit itself,as it was bought in a scrapyard i dont have the actual book that came with that particular radio just the original one that was in the van.and i am pressing 5 alright after entering code.the radio stays on with the code iv entered displayed until i press 5 and you can hear a radio station come on for a second before the screen goes blank and then goes back to the code input screen.iv put this code in heaps of times now so if it wasnt the right one id imagine it would have locked by now.my head is melted trying to get it to work,any other ideas??thanks a million mate for trying to help

ok just to add to this,i was told on another site to hold 5 for 10 seconds after inputting the code to store it and now im getting "1 hour mode" after pressing it and then radio turns off???im rightly stumped
