  • Thanks Reg.

The plot thickens. I'll have to see if I can get the radio out and check the serial.

    Cheers!

Ok, you say it's NOT WORKING AT ALL ; do you mean you switch on the unit and nothing happens? If so then I would suggest it is a power problem and not the code CHECK THE FUSE

Check the link in my signature on how to get the unit out to find the serial number but first once you have power to the unit try pressing 6 and 1, on some newer models this shows the serial

Here is a video showing how to remove a standard DIN radio from the dashboard. A pair of extractors are required (available from Ebay , Halfords etc ) but these can be made from 2 pieces of bent, wire coat-hanger or 4 small drills(using the blunt end) or 4 small Allen Keys or 4 small screwdrivers or 4 nails or even 4 darts.

An assistant is useful to pull the radio out whilst you are releasing the 4 securing clips

  • Also, if I press the CD button it displays the names of two people! I have no idea who they are.
Me thinks your CD has been unfaithfull, if it's done it once then most likely to do it again, I'm afraid the trust has gone - DIVORCE it:p
  • Thanks for the help (and amusing comments)! :D

Ok, I kinda figured that it was something other than a code issue, being that there's no activity from the radio whatsoever. Everything else in the dash is working just fine after replacing the battery EXCEPT the radio. I will check the fuse. Thanks.

Also I just wanna commend you on the great job that you've been doing. I called two dealerships who both claimed that "Fords don't have radio codes, only GM and other manufacturers...." so I must say that you've been a God send for a lot of folks from what I see! :T
  • Hi

I hope you can help me. My wife's car has had a new battery fitted and we can't find the code . The car is a 99 Focus and the radio is a Traffic 4000. The radio serial number is M064428.

    Thanking you in advance!
