use button one for the 1st digit - button 2 for the 2nd digit and so on. When you have the code displaying use button 5 to enter the code. If button 5 does not work try the button select, that's if you have a select button.

Jazzy. Thanks a lot mate. This worked a treat. My wife has been without the radio for months. :T

Interesting comments all round. I have been quoted around 95 euros plus 19.5% tax by a SAAB agent in La Rochelle to provide me with the car radio code. Bought the car from the UK six weeks ago but found the CD doesn't work. The sales garage sent me a replacement radio from another SAAB but they cannot provide the code. The radio is installed, looks nice - but just comes up with "Radio Locked" after about five seconds.
    The car is a 2001 SAAB 9-5
The radio came from a SAAB with the registration R784 XOL and has the following numbers but it doesn't specify what they are.
    4711784
    YS1784
    V1000309
    PU-2147A
Can anyone please advise how I can obtain the code and if any of the programs available on e.g. ebay will work with a SAAB radio. Thanks in advance for any answers

Your radio is made by CLARION and the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.

(There are usually two barcodes on one label. The one required is the lower one )

If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service

note: the Ebay code calculator software will only be able to decode this C7000000++++ serial number mentioned above . It`s a factory database software that is required using the main serial number .......and that is not commercially available

There should be a 14 character Serial Number beginning with BP or GM somewhere on the radio...usually found stamped in the metal casing
