Hi there I have gave up and binned my car 200.I have contacted the local breakers and they have a car 400 stereo which will fit straight in.I have serial no' which is GM040013092202. Is this a radio that can be decoded.Cheers in advance Davy

Unfortunately it is the same answer as last time
Another one that will not be available for free from anywhere on the Internet.

Basically anything after 2000 will not be in any available Philips database (apart from some out of French cars.... Renault etc )as access will be required to the original factory database which is not commercially available.

The alternative is to pay at your local Decoder or Radios / Audio shop and have the memory chip (EEPROM) read or recoded using a laptop and dump reading software.

It might be worth retrieving the first radio from the bin if the decode cost is cheap enough..(can be anything from £10 upwards ) .assuming the local breakers will not be giving you any radio for free

Blaupunkt Travel Pilot , serial: BP050044207512.
    Thanks !!!

Quote all of the letters+numbers on the radio.

  • Interesting comments all round. I have been quoted around 95 euros plus 19.5% tax by a SAAB agent in La Rochelle to provide me with the car radio code. Bought the car from the UK six weeks ago but found the CD doesn't work. The sales garage sent me a replacement radio from another SAAB but they cannot provide the code. The radio is installed, looks nice - but just comes up with "Radio Locked" after about five seconds.
    The car is a 2001 SAAB 9-5
The radio came from a SAAB with the registration R784 XOL and has the following numbers but it doesn't specify what they are.
    4711784
    YS1784
    V1000309
    PU-2147A
Can anyone please advise how I can obtain the code and if any of the programs available on e.g. ebay will work with a SAAB radio. Thanks in advance for any answers
