My GF sent a parcel last wed-18/08 and it was sent via first class recorded delivery, the recipient states he still hasnt received the item, but upon reading some of these comments im worried, i know it should have been sent via special delivery as the insurance would cover the cost (£277) for a mobile phone, the post office are no help at all and the staff at the branch where i posted it are quite rude. Having read that alot of postal staff dont obtain signatures for items sent recorded, this worries me as the recipient could easily have accepted the phone, not signed for it and then say he hasnt received it, i hope this isnt the case as i will lose all faith in the postal system, can anyone offer advice? does it normally take longer than 3 working days to deliver first class? or should i assume its been lost or stolen?0

Hasn't the postman done you a favor by saving you a trip to the post office? Id be happy with this as long as my item arrived0

It is still a 'signed for' service that isnt being carried out.
If I bought something online that was described as something I wanted and then when I got it, it was something completely different I would expect my money back!!
There is no difference.0 -
Chris, you need to wait 15 working days believe it or not before an item is accepted as lost!!!!!!!!!!!!
I myself am waiting for a parcel sent last week to be acknowledged as being received. The online tracking system is pretty useless.
Unfortunately for you, the compensation will only be £41 if it gets that far.
Staff at RM are hit and miss I'm afraid, though I have had some great ones.
If you really want to complain, email the CEO of your grievance.

Surely if she claims a refund for the delivery then the money would be returned to whoever paid it, in this case the ticket issuer? Therefore she could go to all this effort but in effect won't actually receive any benefit for it and will just be giving the company some money back?
Taking this into account I wouldn't really bother. The most you'll get is a letter of apology.0 -
i think if the recipient has been dis-honest and not told me that he has received it then, i dont really want to, but i may make a claim to my mobile phone insurance and state that its been lost, otherwise il only get £41 back from RM0

There are alot of strange posts on this site but I think this is up there! The items turned up without any problem and yet your not happy about it and are going to compain (which will get the postman in trouble). Frankly I am suprised you can spare the time and effort to complain about this! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'm confused now, the OP says the item has turned up but she didn't sign for it? What are you talking about? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

That's exactly it, you are not getting what you paid for.
It's costs over 180% more than a standard cost of posting a 1st class letter for the service of recieving a signature.
I imagine those that think it's trivial wouldn't complain for getting less than half a pint when a pint had beed paid for.
