    Afternoon all

Congrats to the successful GCSEr's!!

We have had bonkers weather here too. Right now it is gloriously sunny but the wind it still up. Tide is in, and it looks angry!

My WM and hob are both back :D so impressed with the letting agent and the electrical company at the speed they soted both.

I had a good day in work until around half3. We have been planning an intergenerational event with local branch of a national old people charity to run tomorrow and Thurs. The charity were getting groups of 10 OAPs together and my work kids were to host a coffee morning with raffle and bingo, and then take them to the seaside for the afternoon. My work kids have fundraised, planned and bought about £60 worth of stuff for this, and it has been planned for 11 weeks. At half 3 today the OAP charity rung to say they only had 1 (one!!) OAP coming :mad::mad:. To say me and my colleague were annoyed is an understatement!. We spent the next 90mins ringing various OAP homes to see if we can get some people but it's too short notice :(. We may have people for Thurs but not tomorrow. It's so disheartening after al the work my kids (and us) have put into it. Rant over.

I popped to Lidl and Tesco after work to get a few bits, just gotta decide what to have for tea now.

    Have a good evening all

    Evening all

Sorry haven't posted in a while again, I do read everyday but don't always get time to post. Hope you are all keeping well and congratulations to those getting results today.

Have been really busy at work lately and have had lots on the go at home too. The garden has been really quite productive, we have had cherries, potatoes, loads of tomatoes, have about 25 peppers ripening and I have just made raspberry vodka with my own home grown raspberries. My cougettes have not really amounted to much and something got at my butternut squash! I think I will do a blackberry gin too as I still have tubs of them in my freezer from last year and this years are nearly ready.

We are going away in the caravan for the long weekend, though as I finish work tomorrow till tuesday, I might go early with Charlie (our puppy) and OH can come across on Friday evening - will have to see the weather forecast, if it is looking like too much rain, I will wait till Friday too.

I have come off the low carb diet as quite honestly I was really sick of eating so much meat etc, so joined Slimming World last night so that I don't put back on the weight I have lost so far. Can't believe that this diet actually works though as I have just had a huge tea of egg, chips and beans!!!!! We shall see. (was really yummy though:D)

Anyway hope you all have a good evening

  • Well, I have had enough, and am ashamed to admit I have put my heating on. :o The house is like an icebox, and is making me miserable, and even putting on an extra layer hasn't worked. I don't think I've ever had the heating on in August in my life, and never when I am "home alone". Hopefully a wee half hour will be enough to take the chill off.

I had mine on for a wee while this morning too, Jackie, so don't feel too badly about it. Actually - I've had it on a few mornings in the past week or so.

Sorry about the migraine, LameWolf. I get them too (a 'feature' of Bipolar, unfortunately) so empathise.

Had a really good day today. It's shopping day so I went to see Mr S and got some really good whoopsies which let the whole shop come in under budget. I then went to visit M&D while the cleaner finished cleaning this place (I prefer to be out while she's here). Chatted with M for a while until she decided she'd do her weekly shop with Mr S this afternoon. So off we went to a different store where she kindly treated me to some new clothes for my holiday. My mum's lovely :)

Oh Laura, it's not funny is it? I am sitting here literally freezing, I have goosepimples and am shivering, its gorgeous looking outside, and the sky is a lovely shade of pink so hopefully.......

Had MIL to visit today, she came to see her boy and wish him happy birthday, he got some lovely aftershave (has more than I do perfume!!!!) a DVD and liquorice allsorts, his fave. She stayed for dinner after he went to work and we had a lovely evening nattering, we dug on of DS2's old pencil cases out and filled it with some nice pencils and crayons from the boys' colouring box, and she's going to post it to my DNephew in Swisscheeseyland who is three next month and was apparently devastated that his big sister got a pencil case for school and he never! Lol he is a real wee character, I see a lot of similarities between him and my younger one. He's a beautiful child, all big eyes and white blonde hair, makes me smile every time I think of him. :D

Congrats to sistercas's DD and Redruby's too. Being a Scot, I'm not sure of the relevance of her year, is she on a gifted programme or something, what age does that actually make her, I understand ages better than school year, for example up here Standard grades which are our equivalent to GCSE's are Fourth Year, age 15 and a half to 16 and a half.

I am off to fill my new hot water bottle, the heating is not going back on in case JC hunts me down or I start hallucinating Jingle Bells :rotfl: Have a nice evening everyone. XX

Very windy here today threatened rain a few times but it didn't happen thankfully and I got all of the washing done and dried on the line :)

DH decided it was much too windy to try and put the shed together so he has painted DS's room - which was way overdue but it looks smashing - white walls, Silver Grey Carpet,Black Furniture, cream blind and black curtains with lots of colourful accents - DS is chuffed to pieces with it

Congratulations to your DD sistercas :T:T
Congratulations to your DD as well Red Ruby :T:T
My DS did well too 3 A*, 2 A's ,5 B's and 3 C's so he has enough to go to 6th form too........ All of us proud Mums eh :D:D:D:D:D

I hope everyone's children did well today and if they didn't (((((Hugs))))

Well I am off to make a cuppa then going to watch the Deep on BBC1 - it has been a good series so far and the is the penultimate episode.

thanks hun, my dd is 15, she goes into her final year next week, she had to sit an exam in year 9 to see if she could do triple science, ( chem, physics and bio) anyway she got in, and those that they thought were ready, got to sit one part of the GCSE early, this score will go towards the final GCSE next year, not sure I explained that very well :p anyhoo all very pleased here.

Butterfly :T:T well done to your ds too, fab results xx
