[STRIKE][/STRIKE]Morning everyone,
Phew, there's some early risers today! I was tossing and turning a bit last night as I think i got too hot (have my own baby bump hot water bottle at the moment:eek:). I have a fan in the bedroom on every night to cool my big pregnant self, and while OH doesn't mind it, he obviously doesn't feel the heat like I do, cos he has the duvet wrapped rght up round his head
.
Esmf73 - hope the unpacking goes well today and you find the dining table
Molly41 and sistercas and all others who follow - hope the GCSE results for your families are good :T:)
Glitterkitty - your trip to London sounds fab! What kind of music does your OH's band play?
We also need to do some budgetting this week - there have been a few changes this month and a few bits I want to get sorted out before the baby arrives.
Notjustlaura - glad you're feeling better and that the cold is finally abating.
JackieG - sounds like you got loads done yesterday and have a lot planned for today. Hope things are feeling less fraught (sp?)
Hi Cheapskate, my fellow calderdale resident! (will have to PM you:)). Hope you get on better with the council re the community meeting. I used to work there and they were the most disorganised bunch of ..... Was quite glad to leave.
Any tips on where to pick blackberries? (promise I won't take them all!:p). I know of some brambles on Albert Promenade in Halifax, but don't know anywhere else. Think there might also be some on New Lane, but would need to investigate further.
OS wise today, i have the last load of washing to do (though think the towels will have to go in the TD because its bucketing down here, so not very OS after all). I'm also going to strip the bed and try and have a tidy round. My lovely mum is coming to visit for the day tomorrow to do some cleaning and get the house shipshape before Cub (baby) arrives, so I want it to be in a reasonable state before she arrives. Might also try and do some baking, or at least get some home baking out of the freezer, as a thank you to her.
The final 2 things for today are to pick up my support stockings from the chemist
:o:o and catch up with a friend over a cuppa later. I feel like an old lady, needing support stockings, but my feet and ankles are so swollen and achy from the pregnancy, that anything that provides some relief will be very welcome!
Right, off to [STRIKE]jump[/STRIKE] clamber into the shower and get started.....
Have a good everyone,

Falady, I have a good crop of bramles up at mine, I'm willing to share some but you'll have to drive to Invernes :-) they are not ready yet give it another week. I do have a small patch in my border and I'm planning on making a really small pot of jelly to have with croissants and xmas morning!! I love bramble jelly.
Anyway away for caffiene injection, have a good day folks, hope your headache clears up JackieG.0 -

Going to dentist later, filling fallen out
, but DS's GF got good results this morning, so a little ray of light today! :j
falady - hope all's well with you & baby, did you say it was #4, or did I dream that?
I'm not actually in calderdale but over the border! Still want to talk to me?

Well, I have had enough, and am ashamed to admit I have put my heating on.
The house is like an icebox, and is making me miserable, and even putting on an extra layer hasn't worked. I don't think I've ever had the heating on in August in my life, and never when I am "home alone". Hopefully a wee half hour will be enough to take the chill off. Morning all,
Bright and beautiful here at last :T, wm is doing its thing, and will be hung out in a while.
DD is off to school latter on to pick up her results, she only has 2 or 3 to collect, her main ones will be next year, good luck to everyone.
Dinner tonight will be sausages, with mash for the others, and loads of veg, I will just have sausage and veg, I weighed myself this morning, and amazingly (after my greedy weekend
) I have lost another 1lb, thats 17lb all together :T, so I am very pleased, so back on it with a vengance
Today I need to do a small online shop, and have a good tidy / clean through, I am also going to get out in the garden this afternoon, the grass is desperate for a cut, and I need to weed my veg bit.
Hope you all have good days, hugs to all in need xx0 -
Thanks for the offer of brambles stroppyjock - unfortunatley, Inverness is just a leeeetle too far, especially given the fact that i need to stop for the loo every 10 minutes!:o
Cheapskate, yes things with bubs are good thanks. She's my first - definitely not number 4!!! If you're over the border in Lancashire, I might be forbidden from talking to you
:D:rotfl:However, as I am a southerner at heart and OH has not yet given me my yorkshire passport, depsite being married for 2 years, i think it'll be ok!
Picked up my support stockings from chemist this morning - they are a SCARY shade of.... um....... brown / pink . If anyone had skin this colour there'd be something wrong wih them!!!Not Buying It 2015

Morning all.........................(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Dull dreich morning here in East Lothian, it keeps trying to rain.
OH out in the garden, now all the red hot pokers are out we are left with a large hole in the middle of the front grass, I traced the outline of the size of bed I wanted leaving and OH has done his thing and re-seeded it. I am going to plant bulbs in it for the spring, will then see what I am going to put in on a permanant basis.
Pot of scotch broth made for lunch, also managed to put in the one support for the curtain rail I missed out when I put the rail up. Had to have two goes at it. I do not know what the wood is that the rail is fixed to but I managed to break the head off the frist screw, searched for a shorter fatter one and put it in about an inch away, its holding ok.....phew, so now I can put the curtans back without them looking funny, the rail bent in, now its nice and straight.
Girding my loins for Thursday and Friday......woodburner in Thursday extra insulation in the roof Friday. I have left the steps in so I can get up and get the stuff down so the have a clear run, we are getting an extra 150mm in to bring it up to standard. If I can stop the heat from escaping through the windows we will be nice and cosy when the snow comes, as it surely will.
I must have been subconciously worried about the 'spot' I woke this morning feeling far less tired than for a while. I could not get warm last night, ended up on the settee with a fleece blanket over me.
Did you see 'who do you think you are' last night? I really enjoyed it; Alexander Armstrong traced his family right back to 1066 and William the Conqueror, he was a direct descendent through his mothers family, very interesting.
Sock knitting on hold, I have knitted one 'Joseph' sock.......hope I can make the other one similar, I knitted the leg on 4 needles and the foot on two.
I managed to get one of the quilt blocks done for the wall hanging, hoping to get another one done today.......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Af'noon
*sends JackieG to the OS naughty step*
Our gas is on a meter (council property) so I havent put any gas on and don't intend to for a while yet! Good job really as the troops were mumbling about coldness over the last few days and I have been making louder mumblings about more clothes. DS-D had a polo necked jumper on yesterday!
Me and DS1 have lunched packed up - made some lovely (if a little smelly!) wraps with garlic and herb soft cheese spread across a wrap with wafer thin ham and rolled up. Also have some HM yoghurt with fruity squirt. The fruit squirt came with the easiyo set but I would like to make some - anyone have a recipe I can follow for hm fruity-squirty-yoghurt topper?
Can I just say..... It's four months tonight til Santa comes:j <<Highlight if you dare
