They had loads in the Asda I was in today, pretty sure its a new offer.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Thanks that's well cheap. I live near an Asda so will go and have a look this week. Only concern is keeping the oven turned on all day while I'm out at work...and do you prepare the food the night before? because I don't have much time in the mornings..
Been informed tonight that I need to pay an extra £18.33 for the TV licence as it's now a 3 way split. Feel heartbroken about it because of all the overtime I've done to give it away...but it needs paying so thats that.
Doing another 10 hours overtime this week and still not seen my contract as of yet...Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -
A slow cooker is designed to be left on all day. It uses as much electricity as a lightbulb (apparently) and is perfectly safe to leave on. The crockpot is removable so if you had enough room in the fridge you could prepare the food, put in the pot and bung in fridge until the morning.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Just found out I might be getting some money for the 2 hours I worked last Wednesday evening so fingers crossed that may cover the TV licenceTotal in ISAs = £8,863.500

Are you entitled to working tax credits?

I didn't realise I was last year and ended up getting £50 a week... it goes by your earnings the previous year, so if you have a P60 to hand?
Well done, you sound like you are doing very well.
I'm also considering a slow cooker, going to pop up to asda and see if they have any9/70lbs to lose0 -

Get yourself a gammon joint, bung it in the slow cooker, fill say 2/3rds full with water and leave on low while you're at work, come in, cut it all up & do gammon, egg and chips.
Keep the water with all the meat juices but skim all the scum off the top.
Next day, plonk a load of chopped veg, potatoes, carrots, onion, leek, parsnip, into the gammon juices from the night before (basically any root veg is good. Lentils, chick peas etc are also good for filling it out.) Go to work, come in, veg will be done, put some of the chopped gammon from the night before back in to reheat with the veg for a bit and you have another 2, 3 or even 4 portions that you can eat or freeze, depending on how much you eat.
Mmmm thats one of my fave winter meals
I also like doing sausage casseroles, especially with Lidl or Aldi bratwursts, mmmmmmmm#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -
MoneyWaster - I just want to say that you are doing a tremendous job here and definitely have your priorities right.
I have a 22-year-old niece who just fritters away what she earns and won't be told. I may direct her towards this thread.
Keep up the good work!I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Got to see my contract the other day and got a start date - 1st October
The hourly rate is £7.28 so that's a bit better than the £6.25 I was on.
Also got £70 extra in my wage this week because of the overtime done last week :rotfl:
Haven't got a slow cooker as of yet, because I'm wondering where I can fit it in my room...
Working tomorrow again and that will make it another 10 hours overtime worked this week.
Only need to save 1 weeks wage to get through the first month of my new contract and I just about have it sat in my current account now
Looking forward to making some more deposits into my ISA but wont be able to do so until the end of NovemberTotal in ISAs = £8,863.500
