Thanks for all the replys, a few of them have been very very helpfull.
1st thing tomorow im going to try and ring my consultant at the orthopedic, explaine to him whats happend and ask him if he would kindly write a report for me, when i ring and get in touch with either his secratary or himself, do i need to ask for him to report on anything spercific? or will he be used to doing reports like this, reason i ask is iv never gone into much detail on how it effects my daily life, but i have of course told him my hip is constantly painfull etc and i also told him i left work over 2 years ago because of my hip. it was only apriill this year i seen him last where i told him how bad it was and he asked me himself " do you feel you need a hip replacement at this moment in time"? i told him it was a very difficult and big dession to make and he agreed and told me as im still relativley young and as hip replacements only last around 10 years and the fact that they get more tricky to do once you have already had one he said you should wait untill you cant bare the pain anylonger but has always said if you want the operation you just have to say. they xray me every 12months and compare the old xrays and its the same hopistal i spent alot of time in and had operations in as a child for my perthes disease to they have lots of records about me.
in aprill this year he also prescribed me tramadol hydrochloride for my hip pain, i think thats says something alone
If i could get a report from him intime before i send the letter i think that could very well turn over the dession if not i think it could take a while
anybody know how long it would take to get a report from a consultant?0 -
2. You also state that I am able to walk 50 metres however this is incorrect as I am unable to walk any distance without being in pain ... My orthopaedic consultant can verify this – contact:
Personally, I would also explain why I'm in pain.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hope things go well for you. We are still waiting for CAB to get back to us before we send in our renewal forms. If we lose DLA we lose everything as I have no way of covering DH needs.Barclaycard 3800

As long as you get the letter in for reconsideration at the earliest, you must put in the letter that you have asked your consultant for a letter, and as soon as you get it you will forward the letter to them, it may take up to 2 weeks to get the letter, from the consultant, but you will have covered your self.
Make a point of saying in the letter that this is a condition that will not get better, it will get worse as the years go by, there is no cure for it.
Also state that you can not walk any distance at all WITHOUT FEELING PAIN. YOU ARE IN PAIN 24 HOURS A DAY.
The DLA say that they will contact your consultant, but it is very rare for them to do so, they do not have the money to pay for consultant reports, it will be in your favour to supply to them a letter. You are not on your own this is happening all over the country at the moment, the Benefits agencies have been told to get people off these benefits, and they are doing so in stopping claims, as far as they are concerned, one off DLA is one towards the target.0 -
I feel sick with worry
really just want to speak with my consultant now and hope his report will solve this, i just cant belive they are going by a 15 month old esa exam, which was conducted very poorly and dosent give a very good perspective of my conditon or needs at all.

thanks again for another helpfull reply.
Yes the nature of my condition is that it IS going to get worse, no mabys its a fact , i had a hip osteotomy around 10 years old and i was left with a deformed hip joint which has been painfull ever since and is getting worse a hip replacement is the only other option but as me and my consultant disscused its a big dession to make.0 -

Have you spoke to welfare rights? They can represent you at your tribunal. I think I also had someone talk to the DWP on my behalf too.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I'm very shocked that they have made a decision based on a 15 month old ESA assessment, 15 months is a long time, I didn't even think they were even allowed to use such an old report!0

They arn't allowed the report must be in the previous 6 months, but they are using any excuse they can find just to reduce the figures, that is why any forms that you fill out for them must be filled in fully, they have tick boxes on there renewal forms, but you must tick the tick boxes, and write your answer in fully they dont ask for this, but it is too your advantage to do so,0
