Maggots!

I wouldn't be too hard with bt_man. I think the post points out a possible view from Tesco. There is no proof and maybe it is worth putting down (if this is the case of course) that the member of your family can corroborate your story for instance. Or give it the address where you bought it (date etvc....)
Several years back I recall seeing this program on TV where people would specifically write back to a food company to get their money back at all time. Imagine if your letter is just another one from a long pile of false claims sent by other people!
Hope it helpsMFW on your mark0 -

Yes, we have a plague of them. It's people doing too much bridge-building."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

OOh, did I touch a nerve?
The fact that this was posted on a "money saving" board, and the fact that the packet was conveniently lost in the bin, and the fact that you had to take 6 people out for a meal...
I'm not saying you are lying, but it just sound's like a scam to me...
Anybody could make up a story like that and write a letter to Tesco's after some compensation.
Why didn't you contact Tesco to warn them that they have a batch of rice with maggot's in?
Why didn't you take them back? (most Tesco's are open late if not 24 hours).
It just all sound's a bit too convenient to me.
As for the naive statement, you wouldn't believe how far from the truth you are...some people label me a troll.Totally Realistic Opinion Let Loose0 -
Tesco are generally very good with complaints (I work for one of their main suppliers, not rice I hasten to add!
)
A consumer had a complaint against one of our products alledgedly damaging her kitchen worktops, the product was fully tested, no problem with the product, it turned out that the customer had misused the product (not followed dilution instructions and used it neat). Tesco still paid out for her worktops, totalled over £900!**Trying my best to be the best that I can**

first of all - could you not have eaten the meal without the rice?
second of all - if you ask for flowers / box of chocolates, it takes away the gesture doesn't it.
third of all - sue them - you should have boiled them, put them on the plate and took a photo.
no offence to you, but with no proof, if i was tesco, i'd chuck your letter in the bin. not saying i don't believe you, just that you can't prove the maggot story in court if you had to.Debt at highest: 23,735

Just to clarify - I contacted tesco and they acknowledged the problem and refunded the cost of the rice - I'm writing a letter AS WELL because I don't think a £1.80 refund is good enough for maggots in my kitchen. (doesn't it say that in the letter?)
The meal was home made thai green curry and rice, so would have been a bit crap without the rice! :rotfl:Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

I really wish I'd kept them now, but when your normally pristine kitchen is covered in wriggly maggots after you have dropped a bag of rice in surprise (so it literally explodes everywhere!) and you have important people coming any second, you just wanna get the things cleaned up and outta there before you heave.Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095!
