OOOh this is more exciting (and interesting) than election night waiting for the results to come in!:T
Congratulations to Serena, Dusty Kitten, Pigpen, Cyclingyorkie's children- You must all be very proud and relieved.

Had a bit of an odd day here today regarding flying as electric went off at 7.50 this morning so WM is a work in progress lol- couldn't shower so had to do a strip wash eurghhh -reminded me of my childhood- can't hoover, iron or anything else assosciated with electricity, made everyone eat breakfast together so I could open the fridge and put the milk back in one go to keep temp stable in there. Its really made me think about our energy consumption!- Laptop only has 45 mins of battery left so frugally reading and posting lol.
On the Up side- Bathroom has been done and so has the kitchen, except the floor.
Busy scrubbing the cupboards when I realised I had an audience a train decided to stop on the tracks right outside my house :o so for 10 mins I had a train full of people watching me scrub my cupboard doors- good job I wasn't doing the bin bag dance:rotfl:

Does throwing out the deep fat fryer count as cleaning one electrical appliance to perfection :p just in case it doesn't i've 'shined' my slow cooker and cleaned the microwave.

Will catch up again later if I have enough energy (laptop not me)
Good luck all those who are still waiting on results -chant positive thoughts whilst opening them.

Well done to relevant fly-families for the exam results. :T:T:T
I still don't know how DS1 has done, as I've dropped him off outside school just after 10am, but I'm obviously not important enough to be told. I really don't know what I'll say to him when he gets in (or in touch). Don't think it will be pleasant and it's really going to spoil the day.

ETA He phoned just after 1 and gave me an overview, but made a big joke of it and now I really don't know what he's got, other than the C in Maths. Poor child - didn't understand why I didn't think it was funny and now he's sulking. I don't think the trip to the off-licence is on tonight.

For my class, it's been the usual mixed bag with some on track and others not quite there. The overall percentage looks great, but I've had a lot of bright students who got Cs when they should have had Bs or As. I'll have a good look later, but got a serious case of CBA at the moment.

On the way back DS2 and I called at the butcher in the next village for their special tomato sausage and pork pie. DS2 has now eaten a grand total of 1/4 slice toast with jam (breakfast) and 1/2 sausage roll (lunch). He says he's full...

I'll go and finish my cuppa before I summon up the motivation to get on with something. The weather doesn't help, as it's been raining hard and it's chilly.
  • Congratulations to all the clever young people with their exam results. My students all got target or above except for 4 (abortion/went awol/haven't seen since Christmas/mum wouldn't let her do a resit).

And they all passed and no-one got a G so for bottom set that's fabarooney.

Mega flying about to commence as guests tomorrow...

Congratulations all those with great GCSE results! I can still remember the day I got mine like it was yesterday, and all the grades I got too - even though it was 12 years ago now! God that sounds like an AGE ago...

Flying - kitchen surfaces and sink are clean and shining, tap has a cosy coat of vinegar soaked cotton wool around the limescaley bits, WM has been unloaded and it's contents hung out (sunny and very windy here atm) and another load is in. Bub needs feeding in 5 mins then I'm going to get DS1 to help me pick up the toys in the conservatory so I can hoover and mop the floors and then I think I'm done. Might tackle a drawer and the medicine box if I have the time/can be bothered.

Thanks to everyone for the cat food bits, going to have a mooch around. I pay £2.30 for 12 pouches and about a quid for a box of biscuits per week at the moment, so it's not mega expensive, it's just annoying when I run out and the cat wont get out from under my feet! Thought I might as well be a bit MS if I was going to bulk buy and avoid running out at the same time.

Hmm ETA how long do I leave this vinegar on for - it seems to be attracting wasps but hasn't worked properly yet?
    So, there are these boys,
    They kinda stole my heart,
    They call me Mummy

    Afternoon all

Got a serious case of CBA today, OH has the black dog on his shoulder and it's infectious even though it is nice and sunny here although rather blowy.

On a positive note nephew got 9 A* and 3A passes (cor what a brain box!!)

Started a cross stitch last night, really enjoyed doing it, going to try and get my self motivated to do a little each day as I have quite a few kits that I haven't even opened yet! LOL

House is tidy, could do with a hoover pushing round0

Repair man condemned my dishwasher this morning :(:( so I now need a new one. Wondering if I can do without (it hasn't been working for the past 4 months and I have managed just fine really, there are only 3 of us here)I could put the cat litter or rubbish bin in the space........not sure I can justify the expense......
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
