More congratulations to pigpen's Dd and cyclingyorkie's DD and grateful for all your hard work and your classes success. Having taken lots of bottom sets myself I know how hard you have to work too.
I have received a new product in the post. White Wizard spot remover and all purpose cleaner. Has anyone tried it? Before I start using it on my good carpets or upholstery I thought I should check with the experts if it really is a safe to use as it states. It does say to test for colourfastness first so I will do so.

Lunch done
Pigpen, Serena, Cycling congratulations to all your children on such great results.
MrsChaos hugs for you. DS1 went straight to golf but did phone me with an overview - he wasn't going to mind until I chewed his ear before he went out
Grateful, Mrs Chaos and Serena well done on you classes' results, without you lot our kids wouldn't be getting the grades.
Valli and PenPenhope your sons did ok too.
DW on, washing on the line. Just going to wash up, bake a cake and do 15 minutes dusting and then I want to do an hour in the garden, ducking the football as DS3 has a friend around. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
:T:T:T Congratulations to all those clever bods who have passed their GCSEs with flying colours.
Commiserations to anyone who's disappointed with theirs.
Pigpen - could it be because they all have intelligent, high achieving mothers??? Well, 'cept for me I'm more of an intelligent under-achiever but heyho:)
I've been told this morning that my hours at work are being cut....again....second time since April, and I didn't see it coming, so am in a curious mixture of shock/upset/angry at moment. I know myself well enough to know there'll be no flying tonight, and a lot of eating....'specially chocolate. Medication should stop me taking a complete nosedive into the black hole, but sometimes I think it's only my eyebrows holding me up. I need to seriously think about what to do next...but not while I'm feeling poleaxed.

Awww hugs to you Roundtuit {{{{{HUGGLE}}}}}
I'm afraid I don't know your circumstances but I hope you can deal with the reduction in hours. Try and look at it positively and try not to take it personally- The decision is probably a financial one and has no bearing on you as a person. At least it will give you more time for Old Stylee, so you may be able to recoup the financial loss in time gain (does that make sense?)
Please have a lovely day and maybe put on your favourite cd

Sorry you've had bad news, roundtuit. Let us know if we can help you with ideas, or just by listening to a rant. Whatever works.
I've finally seen DS1's results and he's done ok. 8 Cs (incl Maths), E in History and G in RE. He's also got NVQ German at L2, which is equivalent to a B. He's done ok overall, but he hasn't pulled out all the stops in the last two years, so I know he could have done better.
He's now sulking because I didn't sound overjoyed on the phone and it's really taken the shine off the day. I've tried to tell him that I'm pleased, but he won't listen. He's tidying his room ready for a mate to come round later and I better make a move, too. There are some weeds outside our front door and I've got my knife ready.
Anyone fancy a HHC or two from 3.30?0 -

Right, all done
units don't need wiping and neither does table and don't have a cloth. I will sort the medicine box, but after DS1 is in bed and decided against decluttering a drawer, as the carp would just be moved to another place anyway... Just need to tidy and hoover LR once kitchen and conservatory floor is dry. Might get a headstart on the bathroom tonight and descale the taps now I have some vinegar.
roundtuit I'm sorry to hear they've cut your hours, how many are in your contract? I'm only asking because my Mum works for the post office and was only contracted to do 18 hours a week, but always ended up doing more like 38. She went to the citizens advice bureau and they said that as she was working full time hours she was entitled to a full time contract so they couldn't just drop her hours suddenly without warning. I know the circumstances are different, but it might be worth a call/visit to CAB to see what they suggest anyway? I hope you get something sorted.
HxSo, there are these boys,
They kinda stole my heart,
They call me Mummy
