Narrow the downstairs hallway would widen the lounge.

A flat roof would put me off.

Why would anyone build something that looks like that?

It's very expensive, I'd want a country house for that kind of money :)

Wonder if it's ex council. Councils have put up some real sh*te properties from an architecture view in the past.
  • Much too expensive for an ugly box
  • I think it needs more than a narrower hall / wider living room, or a non-flat roof. More like a bulldozer!

When you are young and you live in the provinces and are just buying, the price of this looks intimidating. But when you are much older and have your own house in the provinces with which you are happy, this is just hilarious.

I'd save £20k and buy this, at least it looks good!!

Really highlights how little you get for your money in some areas.......

The ugliest place I can find around here is:

    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-23079979.html

which is similar to NDG's example, but what a price difference. Is it really worth that much more to live in London?

I don't think the roof is flat. Look at the photo of the back of the property. I think the roof is a single slope, with the front higher than the back. That's why there's such a big gap between the upstairs windows at the front and the top of the front wall, but no such gap at the back.

I still agree it's ugly and the entrance hall is a waste of space, though.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
