Main aim today is to get my first training course for my new job done - it can be done in 7 hours apparantly. If I do OK it means I have got the job :j and then have another training course.

  • Good morning :)
I have been away from these boards for such a long time, but came back yesterday and have had such fun reading posts :)
Today is going to be relaxing. It's the first weekend in a month where I havent been away or busy at weddings/parties etc and we ended up taking a random drive up to Scotland yesterday afternoon for my boyfriend to buy a guitar! It was a lovely drive, and was only out the house about 4 1/2 hours!
Today I am going to bake a chocolate cake (I got a couple of the triple chocolate party cake kits from morrisons when they were on half price a few weeks ago) and that will do as my 'sweet treat' for work next week.
I'm still recovering from a rather nasty viral infection which triggered an asthma attack 10 days ago, so taking things very easy at the moment.
Also going to make a list of soups and casseroles from this forum that I plan to make to freeze so I have tasty hot lunches at work.
Starting to plan christmas presents today too. Crocheting cushion covers for a few people, and going to get lovely big squishy cushion pads from John Lewis for them :)

    Morning all

Just me and DD up and she's watching TV so I'm mooching :D She woke me at 8am which is very late for her and I was stiff from being in bed too long...cant win! Painkillers are now kicking in so need to think about the shape of today.

I have a toy shop to MS, DS-K's will be back from their mums and i'd like to do some batch cooking - although i'm not going to beat myself up if this doesnt happen as I've a busy couple of weekends coming up and I'd like to take it fairly easy today,

I've been fancying a vegetable lasagne - just for something different and found a receipe yesterday for Leek & Bacon lasagnes so I got some bits I needed for it yesterday and I'm going to pull up some of my own leeks to make it :D There's some steak in for the spinach dodgers

DD had HM yoghurt for brekkie this morning with some fruit squirt on it then half way through her second bowl said she didnt like it ... i think she had probably just had enough!

DH was working yesterday and for his lunch had a nepalese curry which he raved about all night as he doesnt eat curry! he has asked the stall holder to email him the recipe (he was someone he knew from school) so that will probably feature at some point this week!

Anyway off to watch Mickeys Clubhouse with DD for a while :D

DS been at his dads yesterday and back this morning so have actually had some sleep for once so feel better;)
He is due back at 12 so have got a loaf in BM, need to make some cakes and chocolate nests for him for next week......can`t get it done when he is here off school. I also have some damsons and some bramleys(6kg I got from trees at the orchard at the farm cottage we go to for weekends in hols...I did ask first:rotfl:) I am making pickled sweet damsons today and next week am making apple and mint jelly x2 batches and some apple chutney. This will have to wait till DS back at school. They are for Xmas presents.
Beef stew and new pots and runner beans for tea later and HM apple and blackberry tart from freezer.
I have a big Sainsbugs shop coming on Weds...was spending 100 a week but now doing it monthly for 200 and getting fruit and veg from Abel and Cole each week for approx 15 a week.
DS has a week and a half left off school and if I have to go to Weston Park Museum( you know it Sistercas;)) to look at the bees once more I`ll die:rotfl:. There sint much else he wants to do but then when your interests are bees and wasps, toilets, doorhandles and traffic lights there isnt much scope:eek:
Perhaps I will send him down to N9eav to help with his bee hives;):p
Hopefully DS will be calm today. One of his big things at the moment is he has become aware of jokes and humour that people use with each other but has no clue as to how it works, if things are a joke or not, what they are laughing at and if he tries to do a joke it is so ponderous and unfunny it is untrue:(...he just cannot read people or situations at all and it has lead to some major meltdowns.
Have been reading the Daily when I can.....
Saw MSD back briefly.....hello lovey hope things are better for you. Also saw my old mate D&DD around....welcome back hun:jwill PM you or email you after school hols as sure you have your hands full too;):o.
Hugs to everyone else who needs one and sorry for mammoth post but won`t get chance to post again for a week and a half:rotfl:
  • Morning All

Well today has started bright and sunny but rain is forecast :( so I did a line of washing very early this morning
Nothing much planned for today DH and DS are carrying on building the new shed ( It really is like a carry on if you could see and hear them:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) they had to stop early yesterday because of the rain, so hopefully they can get a few hours at least done today.

Roast Chicken with salad and new potatoes today followed by mandarine sorbet :) (Got the sorbet at my trade place 4L for £1 Bargain! :D)

Well I can hear movement from upstairs so peace and quiet just gone out of the window.

Welcome Sandybeth  It is lovely to see so many new posters

    Morning all,

Slightly delicate head this morning :o, had the family round last night to celebrate sisters and dads Birthdays, there was quite a lot of , and my diet went completly out of the window, I had loads of bread and cheese, butter, etc and 2 puddings , so back on it today, going to do a simple jacket spud for tea, think I will have coleslaw or cottage cheese with mine, dd is off with her dad, so will only want a sandwich when she gets back.

I have my bedding in the wm, and will get dd to strip hers once she is up, when we bought dd her double bed my mum bought her a duvet, but it was a really cheap one, which we thought would be ok for the summer, anyway all the stuffing is bunching up in clumps, and dd said she is cold at night, so will have to get her a good one this week, before it gets too cold.

OH and I will probably go to the boot sale later on, and I need to pop into Argos and collect some blinds for the spare room.

Then it will be a walk with little dog, and a relaxing afternoon,

NPM nice to see you posting xx

    Have good days all xx

Mmorning all..............................(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one...............

Bed striped sheets etc washed and now blowing on the line, we have sun, but the wind is very strong, so have double pegged everything. OH is in the garden, so can call me if anything flies off.

I did his haor for him this morning, he looks like a skinhead with a bad haircut!!! but I am getting better at it.

Spent yesterday afternoon and part pof the evening sewing, have got the double wedding ring wall hanging fused and am just using blanket stitch and gold thread to secure it to the back ground. Got 2 of the bits done yesterday, hope to get the other two done today and the corners put on, then I can think about joining it up.........wish I had some vairigated thred that goes from light blue to pink to purple, I could then scribble in the middle of the rings it would look quite good. Cannot afford to use the gold thread, its too blooming expensive.

Shoulder of lamb for supper tonight, need to sort out a dessert of some description........could do a baked jam or treacle sponge whilst the oven is on, will think about it!!

Last nights pasties were scrummy, OH asked me where I bought them from, did not know whether to be pleased or not!!

Right its tea time for the worker so better go and sort it out and remake the bed in case of dizzies.......do not think he would be pleased to have to go on the topper with an uncovered quilt...... and pillows without cases.

    Morning all.

Just popped in to say it's a wonderful day here -hope it lasts.

Got to take some towels back to JL - they are a deep shade of red and are shedding fibres all over the bathroom. Floor is covered, shower is covered, it's really horrible. They are JL Premier range of 800g Prima cotton and so lovely but I can't bear the mess. Luckily I've got the receipt so will pop down later this morning. Also got 3 tops from M&S which need changing for a size smaller :j so it could be a shopping morning.

NPM - can you get a copy of The Transporter DVD from the Autism Society? http://www.thetransporters.com/ It's a great DVD which helps those with autism to recognise facial expressions. A work colleague of mine is using it for his son and it's doing wonders. It's fairly expensive but perhaps the library has it?

OS wise - using up contents of fridge. NOT buying anything else. Oh, have 'discovered' the Sainsbury's new range of house wines. Cheap and exceedingly cheerful! We have had the Pinot Grigio and the Sauvigon Blanc (not in the same evening!) and both are quaffable and well worth the £4.00 a bottle cost. Of course, not quite in the same league as more expensive wines but certainly good enough and very OS.

Hope everyone's day is good - getting better or not too awful.
  • Morning all, welcome Sandybeth!

Had a lovely sleep. Not sure what we are up to today but I am sure it won't involve much exertion! Defo want to list some things on eBay today. I am hoping OH will do some baking that involves chocolate. He has a list of things he needs to do around the house, and has a go at me for not reminding him, so I have now written them down so he has no excuse!!!!! Hope you all have a good day xxxxxxx
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!
