sorry for my unclear messages
the quote on the coral sea resort was actually from eclipse direct/ first choice
the thomsons quote v latedeals was an example to show the price change and to show an example of how tempting it would be to go cheaper but also to show booking a service with reps[thomson] or without reps
[latedeals]
thanks

can anyone help?
Need good quality hotel (doesn't have to be flash but not Butlins abroad) 4/5 star
8th to 20th May so 7 or 10 days.
Not too large a hotel/complex.
Must have things to see/do/eat outside of hotel
Walking ability slightly impeded so unfortunately no trekking etc
WARM/HOT
ages 43/49 so no 18-30's (memories)
Max budget £1000 per person
Been looking at Gambia, Kairaba Hotel but nightmare getting to Gatwick from York (also expensive). If it was not for Gatwick would book it. Sri Lanka was favourite last week but not sure about long travelling for shortish stay.
Anyone know of anywhere else would fit the bill. Like places where you get to experience local culture, hate idea of being stuck in hotel for duration.
Don't fancy Egypt (based on nothing so could be persuaded). Dominican Republic appears to be totally hotel centered (may be wrong).
Been looking on blasted tinternet for 2 days & no further forward. Could still be sat here in May at this rate!
Many thanks
PS. Done China, Jamaica, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Tunisia (worst holiday ever) Majorca, Ibiza , France, Turkey0 -

I am no expert but from experience, Thailand may be a good choice for you. With your budget, you will have no problem finding a trip there that fit your bill. Hotel quality is generally very good and some stunning. It can be quite hot & humid there during May but bearable. It's full of culture and plenty to see in Bangkok. You may even want to do a twin-centre trip along maybe Pataya (coast) or up north in Chiang Mai (no beach).

osoltd...how about Greece for a budget of a £1000 you would get something pretty good I can highly recommend the Minos Beach in Crete we went May and it was lovely food was excellent it was so peaceful and relaxing but the bus stopped right out side to take you off to several other parts of Crete without to much trouble.
See what you think https://www.greekhotel.com/crete/agiosnikolaos/minosbeach/home.htm
7 days will cost about £1,100 for both HB 10 about £1,500 on HB for both
Or maybe one of the other Greek Islands or Cyprus (Coral Beach Hotel is nice) you have a healthy budget
Maybe Cuba https://www.theholidayplace.co.uk due odd durations they might be worth a look.
Cruise? again maybe a Greek island one or Adratic cruise I did post a really good deal for May 10 night crusie and stay in Alaska for £679pp I canhunt it out if thats of interestIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
