Thanks, I would be very grateful if you could.

First choice would be to go to the Algarve, second choice would be any of the Spanish or Greek Islands. Earliest departure date of Saturday 5th May, back by Sunday 13th May. Not bothered about how long we go for. Departing from Manchester or Birmingham.

Ideally, would like lovely beaches (like Menorca), but more geared to couples (like the Algarve), and fab food and cheap wine (like Crete).

Thanks, only problem is that I stayed here a few years ago and it was the worst hotel I have ever been to! Holidays from hell filmed shortly after.....
Think I may be edging towards Menorca from 5th-12th May, just trying to decide on the accommodation now. What do you suggest?

Hi Mandy/sloppy et al (!)

Asked for this thread to be locked a week ago....any ideas who to contact who would do this straight away? I'm sure you'll agree a new thread with better guidlines would help all!

Also-do you not think we'd better be a bit carefull with some of the accom. only companies? Diy travel? Never heard of them & NO bonding on them at all! Call me paranoid but there are so many players now in the accom. only market it's just a matter of time before one goes belly up.

I tend to stick with a select few (well about 10 companies!) -Co-Op Travel will not deal with accom only companies they have ANY financial doubts about....you can imagine-Mid Augist-no room as company has gone bust-2 hot & bothered kids-yes sure if the company is UK based (sometimes not always easy to find out-even if a UK number if the registerred office is overseas credit cards won't protect you) the credit card company will refund (in time!)...but that leaves you to sort accom. Not a criticism but I am very very wary of small accom only companies-there is no rule in place to say they have to have ANY bonding/protection-unlike flights/Tour ops who need ATOL &/or ABTA/TTA bonding.
