Hi all! Going to ask the mods to close this asap-a new thread, a 'part 2' will follow shortly. Spoken to some of the other travel bods on here & we feel the thread is too big & the way quotes are haddled/posted, etc can be improved-helping us all!

Hiya folks,
I'm looking for cheap accommodation in London next week for one, maybe two nights from 4th April (Wednesday) to pick up a prize which I won in a competition on here. (Thanks Kipper). The location of the offices I am to pick up the prize from is Fenchurch Street in London if this is any help. (Alas I have no idea about London at all being a not well travelled Dundonian. Sorry.)
Ideally I'd like to stay somewhere close either to the offices, or to a tube station where I can travel easily as I'm a single female travelling alone and a bit nervous.
Somewhere basic is fine, budget say around £30 a night, breakfast a bonus but not essential as it's just somewhere to sleep ideally.
Thanks in advance.0 -

Like I said YOUR WELCOME.
Well ya pays ya money ya takes ya chance it can rain in august.
Weather isnt guarenteeded anywere.
But Tunisia is as good a place as any and it will be better than here...lolIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
1-Any North West
2-14 nights
3-10th - 12th August
4-would only do a night flight if saving was substantial
5-2 adults 2 kids (ages 15 and 14)
6-All-inclusive
7-prefer a smaller hotel, 4* or higher
8-only looking at Majorca
9-entertainment every night, activities for kids in the day
10-looking to book in the next few weeks
11-£3000
never been in August before but fitting in with kids hols this year
I can't find much left in Majorca for those dates
I know everywhere is busy in Aug so don't want a large complex with 1000's of rooms, some I've looked at have good reviews but fall down in August due to amount of people there and overcrowding etc
