I agree self catering is a much better option in Lanzarote."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

Still can't find anyone who has flown across the pond with flyGlobespan tho....
I flew with them in September. Booked the no frills ecomony. Added the meal on the way out but to be honest wouldn't bother with that again, they offer other hot food that you can buy and we did that on the way back.
The entertainment is on an overhead screen and not an individual seat back one.
The seats are quite thin and the headrest folds round at the edges, saves your head flopping if you fall asleep.
We had 5 seats between the 3 of us going out and coming back so just stretched out and slept for 8 hours on the way there and OH did the same on the way back:D
The premium seats are a bit bigger, gives you 10KG more luggage and ear phones, meals included and blanket & pillow.
No complaints the flights were pretty much on time, took 1 hour extra coming home because of the route we had to fly but other than that no probs and would use them again. (Unlike the poor folk on the first choice flight who would have probably been at the airport since 11am and their flight had a 9 hour delay on it:mad: )0 -
thanks you're both helping....
They'd prefer AI as there mum is hard work to take chosing restaurants and the free drinks in the hotel would be good as the 2 girls can leave their mum drinking in there watching the entertainment if they want to go out for a drink in town one night...
I've mentioned Teguise and Blanca to them but they sound keen on PDC as they've heard they're to quite for going out to bars...
PDC Riu is expensive on riu.com... :-(
The search is still on!!!
Thanks for all your help - I need a holiday after sorting this out.... Oh yeah I get one once they've gone!!!

1 Airports - prefer MAN/BHX/NCL but happy to fly from any
2 Anything from 10/11 - 14 nights
3 2-8 November (14 nights), 2-10 November (10 nights)
4 Would prefer day flights
5 Two adults/no kids
6 AI
7 Quiet
8 Would like to go to Caribbean (but not Dom Rep)
9 Hotel on/near the beach would be great
10 See note below
11 £1700/£1800 ish
Re prices of holidays required by, I'm unsure whether the nearer you get to the departure date, the cheaper the holidays get. I wouldn't want anyone to do lots of searching and then let me know that if I wait another week or so the holiday will be cheaper. Happy to wait a little while till booked if likely will get cheaper, if not I'll book by mid-week.
Thanks for your help.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

You both very kindly helped me in August to book a trip to take my mother to Luxor, going out on 13th November to the Sofitel Karnak in Luxor, flying from Birmingham, which cost £807 for the two of us.
Airtours have now cancelled the flight from Birmingham, so it looks as though I will now have to book something from Gatwick, which won't be too awful as my mother will be in London on Saturday 11th anyway and so can stay with me in central London and then we could leave on Sunday 12th pr Monday 13th.
On the mytravel website, the holiday is about the same price with flights from Gatwick, but they are at a really awkward time to get back,
Outbound Departing: 12:25 on 13-Nov-2006 From: London Gatwick To: Egypt - Luxor Arriving: 19:50 on 13-Nov-2006
Return Departing: 21:05 on 20-Nov-2006 From: Egypt - Luxor To: London Gatwick Arriving: 01:05 on 21-Nov-2006
as my mother is in her 60s and will be returning to the midlands by train or coach, so getting in to Gatwick in the early hours is not practical.
So, could you suggest a holiday to Luxor with 5* hotel, preferably half board, but otherwise B&B at a stretch, for that week with better flight times? If it is cheaper too, then that would be a bonus, but I'm not looking for miracles"!0 -

Those Jamacia deals sloppy found are excellent no one else can come close to them
Thomsons often raise the price around Thursday for the weekend booking.
First Choice dont have anything left for your dates so if want the Jamaica ones availablity is only going to get less so prices will more than likely rise.
The Riu and Decameron ones are best value they usualy sellforalot more and often come out with the best reviews heres a good site to check the reviews along with the others sloppy posted https://www.debbiescaribbeanresortreviews.com
