Hey people - I'm looking to book a last minute surprise trip for my girlfriend and I - and I'm wondering if I've left it too late on my budget etc...

We both have time off to leave very early on Friday 2nd June, spend that night and also Saturday (and MAYBE Sunday price permitting) and either return Sunday or Monday sometime in the afternoon.

As per the start of the thread...

1) Can fly from Cardiff.
2) Duration as above.
3) " "
4) Night flights are fine.
5) 2 x adults
6) Hotel, b & b - not fussy - just not tatty (or she'll kick my *ss) :rotfl:
7) N/a as it's only a break
8) N/a
9) No smoking but not a must
10) Prices required a.s.a.p.
11) Max budget is about £500 for travel and accomodation... :-S (Enough?)

I was trying to get on https://www.sailrail.co.uk but the site appears to be knackered. I really don't mind how we travel - rail or flights. I can get transport to Cardiff Airport as I live in Newport and can get a lift there. Or a train from either.

Main concern is being near the city centre in order to go out, visit tourist attractions etc.

As much help/advice as possible is appreciated.

Oh, and one final note - I have been assured by a very good source (allegedly) that you don't need a passport for travel from the UK to the ROI. Is this correct as I don't have one - but I have Grade A photo ID. If you DO need a passport - please don't waste any time on any of the above...! :eek:
