    Hi Savapenny
thanks for those websites. We ended up booking the one for the 1st of September in Mexico (Riu something)- we only thought to go from the 4th as thats when the kids go back to school- and it was even cheaper than the quote you got, which was a bonus.
My parents couldn't go to the Sol Matias in Palma Nova as the hotel informed us that the shower was over a bath so my father wouldn't have been able to have a wash - well not a proper one any way for a week!!! Didn't really think my mother would appreciate it. I got them a hotel through accessible travel who basically pinched a room from another company in Tenerife as they didn't have any left themselves and booked the flights seperate.

Any bright ideas for a cheapo holiday in Turkey? I want to take my 12 yr old grand-daughter to the Ovacik/Fethiye/Olu Deniz region. Flying from Manchester, April or May (price more important than dates). Small family B&B preferred but happy to consider alternatives. Must have pool.

Big BUT - I have mobility problems and can only manage a few steps, so must be a ground floor room or have a lift. (I found a perfect holiday, at a hotel with disabled access, with Goldtrail - but the tour operator was amazingly unco-operative and refused to phone the hotel or give any commitment that a ground floor room would be made available).

    Thanks for any suggestions

    Daisy

Hi Saveapenny, if only life were so simple!

I agree the Goldtrail offers are great. The Seril 2 has disabled access and ground floor rooms, so would be ideal. But Goldtrail flatly refused to contact the hotel or give any commitment regarding a groundfloor room. They said rooms are allocated by the hotel on arrival, and I must accept that I may be given an upstairs room.

When I pointed out that I'd have to change hotels if that happened, as I cannot manage stairs, they said they couldn't do anything about that. A simple phone call or e-mail to the hotel to notify them of the arrival of a disabled passenger for that week and to check that a ground floor room is available would have been an easy thing to do, but Goldtrail refused to do this.

Interestingly, when asked if they have policies and/or procedures re disabled customers, they said they had no such policy!!

Why not e-mail the hotel yourself before you book

I would do as Saveapenny has suggested and either email them or phone them. That way you will know one way or the other if hotel is suitable and if they have a room you want available.

I would do, but I can't find their e-mail address (their web-site doesn't seem to be working) and Goldtrail won't give it to me. I have left a message on a Calis Bay forum and am hoping someone will have an e-mail address for the hotel. Unless anyone here knows it???
