PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. I wrote to Mike Weatherley when all this kicked off - the only reply I've had so far is asking me for my address to see whether I'm a constituent of his. I'm not, but given that I'm not asking him to campaign on my behalf, just asking him to consider all the facts of the case, I don't see that I'm not entitled to a proper reply.
Very poor, IMO.0 -

When I thank a post in a thread I've not posted in,
it means that I agree with that post and have nothing further to add.

How do we think their Early Day Motion will go today?
I like that this one has gained so many signatures in such a short space of time. Will be interesting to see which does more.

I've not seen theirs on the site yet but I am sure it will be there soon.0 -

I liked this quote from a contributor to Tessa's blog (with my emphasis in bold);
"Also in a recession it’s recognised that homeowners can fall behind with mortgage payments yet all that’s possible is done to keep them in their homes. There’s even a Private Member’s Bill from George Eustice, MP for Camborne and Redruth to “rebalance the law, making it harder for banks to enforce their security and throw people out of their homes.” Contrast that to the press reaction in the Suzy Butler case and the support she claims to have from Mike Weatherley, MP for Hove and Portslade for her wanting to rebalance the law to speed up the eviction process for tenants. One could be forgiven for thinking tenants don’t qualify as people these days."0 -
Looks like the media still haven't cottoned on, on facebook:
"An end to squatters rights what about homeowners rights? Great meeting at Parliament today watch out for the story on BBC South Today at 6.3Opm tonight and clip online tomorrow also feature on BBC 5 live and BBC Sussex"
Why are they giving her more air time?0 -
Is anyone watching?0
