They'll probably see that as another 'threat' against them

I like Lazarus' post about how they have linked to mydeposits but using the search facility on their site there is no record of the deposit. (I've checked that myself searching every month from January to August 2010)
Does that definitely confirm deposit wasn't protected in scheme ?

Another serious error in the catalogue of errors.

There is now a "Find Carmen Nobre" page on FB if anyone's interested...?

What I also like about their favourite page 'mydeposits' is the tagline being tenants how to get your deposit back :rotfl:

They have favourited the NLA - I wonder what their view on this story is?

It will all be part of their attempt at "rebranding" and trying to show fairness to both parties.

They have changed the supporters' page strapline, top left of page:
Leading on from the successful campaign to help Suzy Butler legally reclaim her home , The focus of this page is now to encourage support for a rebalancing of the tenant /landlord eviction process.
If Ms Butler has signed up to the NLA then that's a good thing , as they run courses for those LLs whose knowledge of procedure is lacking. Remember too that the local NLA members emailed around one another in an effort to help Ms Butler to fend off her homelessness, by offering her somewhere to stay, so publicising them is perhaps her way of saying thank you. Of course, there is always the possibility that she was a member from the word go but chose not to ever read any of their literature or guidance;)

However, as I said in the old thread, its very disappointing that none of the LL associations made any comment on how SB handled her Ts rent arrears and eviction. Whilst recognising that their role is to support LLs, my view is that they do newbie LLs in particular a huge disfavour by not using Ms Butler's actions as an opportunity to re-iterate the correct ( & legal) way to deal with a T's eviction.

Judging by the posts the FB page-creator has made I'd say its purpose is to acquaint and encourage Carmen to get some legal advice and consider taking action against SB. I wonder if there are any solicitors out there willing to do it pro bono?
  • Dear Suzy and Jeremy,

Thank you for your invitation to join your web chat this bank holiday weekend, Friday 27th August at 8pm. Unfortunately I cannot attend as I'm going camping.

    Yours sincerely,

    Lily Livered.

Hope you have a great w/e Lily - have you got your own tent?
  • Dear Suzy and Jeremy,

I shall be unable to attend your webchat, sadly, as I have got some really crap tv to watch and a tube of Pringles to work my way through.

Looks like it's going to be a quiet evening.

Have fun with Vicki and Janine! (And take it slow, satellite delay to the brain and all that)

    Dear Suzy and Jeremy,

Thank you for the invitation to join your web chat. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend as I have half a tin of paint that hasn't quite dried out yet, so I'm going to monitor it's progress over the Bank Holiday weekend.

    Yours

So I've received a reply regarding the 'other thread' and why it was pulled...

In it's entirety (well almost) -
    Hi XXXX,

I'm afraid we had lots of reports about this thread and we just don't have the resources to deal with the amount of work it was creating.

Should you need to contact us regarding this... yadda yadda yadda, MSE Forum Team

    So. There we are then.
  • Dear Suzy and Jeremy,

Thank you for the invitation to join your web chat. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend as I am intending to mow my lawn. Unfortunately, the grass isn't quite long enough yet so I shall need to keep a very close eye on it.

    Hugs and kisses

    Wee Willy xxx
